Both DPS spec has an auto attack proc that gives them a 100% crit ability that scales with their mastery. One spec has to build crit to enable the proc that becomes worthless for the global that is 100% crit. That other gets to stack Haste and Mastery till it hurts.
Unholy has Killing machine procs built into their kit now it just called sudden doom and doesn’t require crit to happen. If FKDs KM and IDT just procs of auto attacks it can also just build haste and mastery and be alot smoother to play. Make 2h 25% like Sudden doom currently is and make DW abit less like 15-20%.
This would especially help in PvP where FDK cant even build Crit to enable the main part of its spec.

Didn’t old KM use to do this? Before Legion?
Not that I’m against this idea but I think we’ve been there before.
Sudden Doom making Death Coil crit is new for me though. Hmm…
Was added with the Warthin. Sudden Doom now crits and pops one wound. procs of AAs alone.
That. I’m aware.
Just wondering if I went a trip into a memory lane correctly as KM used to proc off of AA and AA alone.
Yes, they used to proc of just auto attacks through the ppm system that gave a % per auto attack dependent on the baseline speed of the weapon. Before that it was based on auto attack crit.
So they had it proc off of auto attack crit, then changed it to auto attacks from about mid wrath all the way to the launch of Legion and then put it back to how it was originally which is just a bad way of doing it because having a guaranteed crit when you have to build crit is makes one or the other lose a ton of value and then things feel bad when at low crit levels.
It was a change that didnt need to happen.
If KM got some sorta benefit from crit like Chaos Bolt it would feel a bit better but i would rather its just be smoothed out with just auto attack procs instead of DWs current chance to proc off a crit.
It’s prolly a change that has to happen when a season hits so ppl don’t feel as bad replacing all their crit/mast gear for hast/mast.
One way that other games have solved this for classes that have automatic crit (warrior from ff14 comes to mind) is to have crit stat not only increase the chance of crit, but also the damage dealt by crits.
It double dips in a way but if your class works with automatic crits then the stat doesn’t become useless.
Obliterate would just get nerfed and people would complain about that nerf and then you would have to only build crit and mastery for your main rune spender to be worth anything.
