Make it so Hunters need to buy ammo again

I think it’s a really fun and immersive thing for hunters to need ammo. Like in Skyrim.

Like in Skyrim? Where you buy out one shop’s arrows at the start of the game, then realize you didn’t need to because every enemy you kill has 10~20 more arrows on them?

I mean, I’ll al be for adding a hunter tax that costs money every time you auto attack or use an ability, but Skyrim isn’t the best point to use in favor of it.

Do you have a hunter friend that you’re trying to annoy or something?

Please No. No one else has to carry materials for their spells now days. It’d be super unfair.

First bring back minimum range. Then you can bring back quivers and arrows.

They could make a quiver/ammo pouch equip without it being as tedious as the original system. An equip that doesn’t need restocking, just has stats or a damage buff. Making them visible would make some hunters happy too.

Needing certain items to do stuff like Reincarnate, create Poisons, or shoot Hunter weapons was a cool thing back in Classic, though I can see why it was removed later on.

That’s amateur hour. What you do is find some Ebony Arrows, find one of the guards that’s endlessly shooting a target (I usually go to Solitude), pick pocket them, drop an Ebony Arrow into their inventory, and take their other arrows out. Then, you just wait by the target and loot the infinite Ebony Arrows they shoot at it.

I liked having ammo way back when, but after spending years without it I really don’t think it’s a good idea to revert things back to the way they were. We don’t need ammo back now, and I think Hunter is better off without it.

Ammo was immersive, but not very useful. If you ever ran out, which happened pretty fast, then you were instantly useless.

It might be interesting if some spells did require items like the old days, but not the entire functionality of your class.

I dont know. Playing rogue with the poisons ruined me for wanting to ‘load’ anything.
I guess if there were different kinds of ammo that had different combat effects that would be cool.
But if its just generic damage, I’ll pass on having to buy ammo.

That’s not true. You still had Raptor Strike, a pet, and could FD/trap. That’s only mostly useless.

Not that I ever forgot to restock before a raid and had to melee for 90% of a boss fight.

Psh of course not! I certainly never ran out either. >.> Who would ever do that?

Raptor Strike was a force to be reckoned with, I don’t even know why hunters were ranged.

No thank you.

Ammo on a Hunter always seemed a bit bland to me since they were just a basic reagent for attacking.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Exotic Munitions talent from WoD make a return though where you get to have different ammo types, even if it’s not strictly an item you have to equip.

Well that and you use this to Spam crafting,

And Skyrim can have weight limits. Unless a really bad pack rat you can carry 500 arrows no sweat.

Now how immersive is carrying 500 arrows? Not very.

And wow would need 500.

My mm hunter breaks her aimed shot cast almost as much as she fires it off to “not stand in The fire”. So she spams the crap damage on the move capable castes a lot.

I think if this was the case, I would use star’s fury while doing quests and such. I don’t think you needed ammo with that bow.

It is interesting in Classic, but I don’t like losing bag space
