Dear Blizzard,
Do a survey of your customers and you will find that 80% prefer items that are currently unavailable to become accessible for purchase again.
And I’ll say more, participating in WOW groups and forums, a lot of people stopped playing, because of these limitations and rules.
At least open the trade for this, like Valve does with CS2 Skins. In addition to more customers, they will have another source of monetization.
I don’t think they should make exclusive things available to all but I think I would be OK with them adding a reskinned/recolored version maybe to mark the differences.
What I’m trying to say is that Blizzard could always add recolours of those mounts/pets without taking away from the “rarity” of the original ones. Best exemple would be the Crusty Crawler from the Trading Post. They added a recoloured crab mount and it doesn’t take away from the grind people had/have to do for the Snapback Scuttler.
I can’t help but feel bad for the people that had previously bought TCG items with their own money only for said items to be given away for free via Twitch or Prime.
I agree completely with this.
Recolors and slightly altered versions of these rare or unobtainable things is probably the best way to appease both crowds.
Let exclusivity stay exclusive and bring in more variety.
Why should Blizzard have to do the survey? If you have already conducted a world wide random sample of players and have that 80% number, why don’t you just give them access to your research?
And you have to be a bit more specific than “a lot of people stopped playing, because of these limitations and rules”. Does “a lot” mean that world wide random sample or does it mean you and 12 of your friends?
Please don’t make up random stats that you have ZERO clue about.
100% False. Yet again, please don’t make things up. I myself have rarely seen ANYONE quit of not having the original ZG Raptor mount that is no longer in the game nor the OG Amani War Bear.
You can already open trade in WoW and trade people. But NO you don’t need to trade EVERYTHING in WoW.
There’re two main categories of ‘fomo stuff’ that tend to get conflated in these discussions. Stuff that comes from promotions (either IRL or online), and stuff that comes from achieving things in-game during a specified time. Promotional FOMO, stuff from events and the like, can and usually does reappear here and there. Achievement-related stuff, like AotC, tends to not return.
I feel like the latter category would actually cause a ruckus if that line was crossed by returning them to the game, but so far Blizzard has pretty much avoided doing so with the exception of a few things going to the BMAH.
