Make It or Break It

The next xpac needs to be groundbreaking with ARs and customization options or else it will be a super disappointment and, ultimately, a fail, imo. Not only do players (again, imo) want faction restrictions lifted, but they want to better define their characters with more race and appearance options. The idea of repeatability is severely lacking in this game. I, personally, am tired of doing the storyline on every char. Tired of grinding rep on every char. Tired of difference of achievement points on every char. I don’t care if the hardcore people want to do everything a million times, we should have the option to toggle progress account-wide. Let people play the way they want to play. You shouldn’t have to commit to a particular char, especially with changes being made with every patch, as is the nature of MMOs.

There’s a lot riding on the next expansion, which gives me a sliver of hope that it might actually be half decent. But I’m not holding my breath. I’m too jaded now.

If I can’t be an Orc Paladin next expansion, I’m going to scream.

Riiiight, but if you didn’t have rep grinds, borrowed power grinds, and whatever else, people would blow through the content in 10 hours or less.

I’m not saying you are wrong. I’m saying their fix for stretching out …everything… is time-gating and mind-numbing rep grinds, and it works. It keeps people logging in.

Well, I understand there is going to be grinding in an MMO and I’m fine with that, but I don’t want to do it multiple times on multiple alts. Also, they really need to cut down on the daily chores because there isn’t enough time in the day to do the chores and then actually play the game and go do old content or pvp or whatever else you feel like doing, from my point of view. Like with Korthia, by the time I got done with the dailies to get as much archivist research I could get, I was ready to log. Maybe I’m just burnt out but it’s lacking in the fun department for me.

A half dozen new races and at LEAST 2 new full classes. Revamped reward structure for pve. No rating requirements for conquest upgrades. Account wide reps. Day 1 catch up mechanics. Skipping a day or a month should not put you in a hole that you can’t climb out of.

I agree. They need to let players play the game and progress the way they want. They’ve talked about it before but never really seem to implement it.

I don’t want any of these things :face_with_monocle:

I want good gameplay.

Why not both?

Well, good for you! Players (plural) means more than just you :man_shrugging:

The next expac will suffer from the same problems others have. The playerbase is too diverse and inflexible. All the groups that make up the game population demand that the game be tailored to their expectations and they see any compromise as a failure.

i’m already preparing my card to pre-order the new expansion + house in BFA

It is diverse and flexible. The issue they have had for 2 expansions in a row is that they are only really catering to one or two subsets of players, the mythic+ grinders and raid loggers, while leaving everyone else out to dry.

Yup, it’s come down to two end games: either you have a Raider IO score good enough to get into Harvard or you have a PVP rating good enough to get into Yale. Otherwise, you suck and should probably uninstall

BFA had insane amount of casual content

Most of it was hollow at best, though it did indeed exist.

Prepping it how by telling it what a good credit card it is?

Making a special credit card holster?

Because I’m doing those things

II think if the next expansions bombs and MS cant get this ship back on track, its time to turn WoW over to the public domain and let more creative minds have a go at it.
