Make Ironforge Great Again

Ironforge in vanilla was the hub of the Alliance. Despite Stormwind being the capital, a vast majority of players would set IF as their hearthstone. Maybe because it was more central to the end game dungeons than Stormwind, but for me IF was always the most accessible.

Stormwind today is so cluttered with everything that many of us still use that IF port in Boralus. I’d like to see a lot of things other than Brewfest take place in IF. I’m ok with my ghost town since it’s the closest thing I’ll ever have to owning my own in game real estate, but I’d like a little more than it just being the heirloom vendor. You’ve got 3 alliance races all close together right there. (Granted Dark Iron are kind of equidistant to SW). Maybe copy and paste the portal room there? Then after that we can figure out why the Wetlands’ Menethial Harbor water hasn’t receded yet from the cataclysm and my gnome still has to swim into town.

Orgimmar is another cluster but we can tackle that some other time.

Ironforge would’ve been much nicer as a portal hub, IMO.
It’s a nicer Alliance city than Ye Olde Color-Coded Castle Town.

They should set an Invasion in Ironforge. That would get the old mountain hoppin’.

I love Ironforge, it’s still my favorite hang out spot.

I don’t think it needs a portal room, but even just a portal to the SW portal room would be fine. Make it easy to go back and forth. And add ethereal services too. A few changes like that would probably help, and the same goes for Thunder Bluff. SW/Org have been in the spotlight way too much since Cata.

It would be nice to see Ironforge more populated. It’s my favorite city and has my favorite race. Dwarves. :smiley: Always felt it was well laid out. Always knew where everything was and it was easy to find things. Also, you could ask EVERY guard for directions to something. So annoying running up to one in Stormwind and you can’t ask them. It’s also very grand and unique compared to Stormwind, which I do like, but feel I could travel somewhere here IRL and see something similar.

Blizz had the chance to make IF relevant on quite a few occasions.

*Moira locking down Ironforge when she came back to claim the throne. We could have been part of that team Varian was leading to rescue Anduin. It could have ended with the founding of the Council of Three Hammers.

*Forging of the Hammer of the High King. Blizz did an excellent comic about this and it really demonstrated the strain between the Bronzebeard, Wildhammer and Dark Iron. Would have been nice to see the intrigue that was going on at the time do due Moira wanting the hammer reforged, saying it was the real thing, when in fact it wasn’t. Instead we got Moira being painted the good guy in Blood in the Snow. /shakes fist

*Magni, sadly, had to leave IF all too soon after becoming animated again. I know the man is working to save Azeroth but go see your daughter! He admitted to doing her wrong and wanting to rectify things. Can’t do that if the two of them never meet up. With him being neutral and a faction war going on, I don’t imagine that will ever happen. :frowning:

Well we burned down the tree…hard to burn down the forge…so were going to need a lot of cermet…yup a whole lot of it , were just fill in that hole in the ground and problem solved 2 cities down…2 to go…

Yes please. The Alliance needs more than one hub (especially since that one has been artificially enhanced).

I always thought Lagforge was the hub of Alliance in vanilla because it had the only auction house.

only reason we are in IF is blizz refuses to let us retake gnomer and have it as a gnome only HUB.

we arent in IF becasue we like it :expressionless:

I can help put in an awesome fire suppression system and bots that put out fires as well. Sadly I can’t protect against fiery catapults that exceed the range of realism even in a fantasy game. :frowning:

I know you’re not in IF because you want to be there. This dwarf is happy to share his home and would gladly help you get yours back if Blizz allowed it. That mean Dark Iron Valrayne was the one talking about building a wall. No way I’ll be helping build that thing. If anything I’ll use my knowledge of explosives to blow it up if need be. lol
