Just rounds out the fire mage kit so nicely and makes it feel more dynamic

hell no when it was good and every fire mage used it in legion that was the worst
That was when it didnt have a cooldown it has a cooldown now so you cant just sit in the backline and spam it.
15 sec is nothing and shifting power there’s 2 and its a shorter cast time now too
Ah yes, nothing quite like using a cool down to lower the cool down of a spell with a cool down, putting the other spell on a cool down.
Aside from that silliness; Greater Pyro could use some love. I would propose:
- 4.5 second cast, not affected by haste
- 15 second cool down.
- Deals 35% of targets max hit points in spell fire damage.
- Cannot be mitigated by any damage reduction abilities.
You can still use barriers, cloak, ams (absorb, not reduction), to reduce the totality of the damage, just not initial damage.
Its not nothing because as soon as they put a cooldown on it people stopped using it. Overnight everybody stopped playing that firemage spec.
Are people playing fire using it right now? Is fire OP right now? no and no. you have no idea what you are talking about. Even today firemage is average and numbers back that up. If you think its still OP because of shifting power you are delusional, no high level player is using it, even in settings where you can sit in the backline and free cast like in BG blitz people are not using it.

There are more blood dks and prot warriors than fire mages in the top 5k players across all game modes. Its basically always in the bottom 5 of all 40 odd specs above 2.2k in all game modes this season.

Greater Pyroblast is what Pyroblast used to be upon release. Long cast time. Huge damage. No cooldown.
Loved this spell for one whole xpac. Adds interesting flavour to the mage toolkit. A different play style. Needed some tweaking, not a 15 sec CD.
Sure there are currently two different versions of fire: Sunfury and Frostfire, but aside from some minor differences, they essentially feel the same to play. SO BORING. Give me opportunities to find different ways to play my spec.

Right so we effectively don’t have “pyroblast” anymore (or a spell that fully fulfills that role) except in pvp mode
Because it sucked it just got major buffs and is #1 lmao and fire has been the top mage spec since at least legion in pvp
Fire mage is number 1??? Hello? Fire is still trash it gets countered hard and lacks defensives.
Its not even in the AWC at all (zero rep), representation wise across all game modes the top 5000 players the spec representation shows frost mage at 5% and fire at 0.7%.
The highiest rated 3v3 fire mage is 2349 rated the highiest rated frost mage in 3v3 is 2606. out of 40 specs its the 6th least popular spec in PVP at mid\high ratings. There are triple enhancement shamans at high ratings than fire mages.

You are a classic rogue from what i can see, but sure. I would take your word for it if you are actually one of the best in the world saying fire mage is a OP spec. But compared to what is stier right now i just dont think its that strong, even the guys at skill capped put it at a B tier.
Thats because the buffs go live tuesday only on ptr atm
