GDKPs have become the most common type of raid in wow classic and it encourages gold buying which in turn increases the number of bots. WoW Classic has devolved into who can swipe the hardest and I don’t want Wrath Classic to be like this. I’d even be okay with a WoW Token in classic if it helps combat this.
I enjoy them. What I hate is the elitism of “omg you have to have 1000g+ MINIMUM and guarantee you’ll buy a list of 3+ items to be considered”. That’s the real problem.
That is literally every GDKP. And the “omg you have to have 1000+ minimum” is a drastic understatement. Gold purchasing is rampant and it is severely effecting the game with botting because these GDKPs are often 5k+. There is no need for them to be apart of the game it is ruining the experience for everyone.
Personally I’ve only encountered that kind of gdkp a couple of times. Most of the ones I’ve been to have been quite chill, and all items sold for less than 2k gold, even the BiS ones.
This seems to be your point? You want to buy gold in a legit way?
I do think that better ways to crack down on RMT could be helpful, but I’m not sure how they would implement them. However, I disagree that GDKP is a bad system. In my opinion, it is the fairest, and best raiding system available.
Maybe just give out game time for people to report their friends who have bought gold, and provide evidence such that those people are able to be fairly evaluated.
No, I don’t care for buying gold legit or not however if it helps reduce bots then do it. All these people are spam swiping for their GDKP runs and it is hurting the game.
I don’t think there is any evidence that it does.
I don’t see GDKPs as being true to the spirit of Classic and that’s probably why I have never raided one. As far as banning them, that’s a bit extreme. I would be satisfied if the particpants were simply screened more thoroughly for RMT association and before you start throwing around the word ‘Inquisition,’ I think the same algorithm should be tacked onto any transaction(s) that pass a certain threshhold.
I hate to break this to you, but Blizz can’t make anything illegal.
I think GDKPs are better than MS/OS. Seems easier to obtain exactly what you want.
Probably because you never went to a Black Temple GDKP. Which is the current standard for gold making. If you aren’t in a Black Temple GDKP, you’re poor.
true to the spirit of classic? they were born in vanilla, i raided multiple toons in gdkps every week in TBC… They’re a part of the core of the classic experience.
can you show evidence of this claim?
Blizzard needs an irl assassination force to enforce these rules.
All I have to say to that is “don’t ever try to crash a party on Bobby’s boat”.
Love GDKPs personally
a level 70 talking about the Classic experience may as well be a Vulperra
Not that I want this one way or the other but they did mention the idea of “fresh” wotlk servers citing TBCs launch as a reason. (whatever that might mean)
Gold is mined, not farmed!
These forms of raids exist because people buy gold with real money and those same people don’t enjoy healthy participation/cooperation in the community.
Classic Era’s rat race is long over also so I can’t see why anyone would be that impatient. Waiting many months to get the things you want sucks, but that’s life!
