As title says, it’d be a life saver and honestly I am surprised they haven’t been transferable with the warband system.
This is a problem because most Draenei decor from WoD vendors are locked behind reputation (which isn’t warbound for WoD) or questline completion which makes purchasing things annoying if your main is short on currency your alts might have. Apexis Crystals being transferrable while Resources aren’t makes me wonder why this is a thing to begin with.
I agree! Please make them transferable as it’s not a resource you can easily farm like legion or BFA. There are no WQ that give resources and only a few rares drop them.

Having so many items locked behind a specific reputation while this currency is also not transferable feels AWFUL. I didn’t play Alliance at all during WoD, so I have no Council of Exarchs rep. I’ve been working on that rep, but I still can’t buy everything I’ve unlocked because I need Garrison Resources. Either the resources should be transferable, or make them cost Apexis Crystals instead.
Your garrison automatically generates them as well. However, I agree they should be tranferable.
I cannot claim to need more garrison resources, but there was some lip service paid to providing a way to send garrison resources to alts during WoD’s last stages. All that came of it was a rare mission table quest that rewarded a Huge Ogre Cache. Which does provide 2000 1000 garrison resources, but is a pretty rare mission table quest that probably has some gating to clear before it will even show on your mission table.

It gives 1k, but I haven’t seen this mission pop up on any of my characters in years. Nor the Medallion of the Legion.
Damn, this reminds me I need to cycle through a bunch of alts once a week or so to build up GR for full release.
I generally log off in my Garrison at the mission table. That way, whenever I log on, on any given alt, the first thing I do is check mission availability. I can typically get 3-4 medallions and 2-3 caches each month.
Ogre caches are rare, and super expensive as a result since they aren’t warbound.
There’s a small possibility of alt-bombing since each character can get their basic garrison in minutes and then funnel resources to someone with a trading post. But that’s still very slow and tedious so who cares if somebody does that for less gold than the SL mission table. Just let them transfer.
I agree that making them transferrable would be nice, but the garrison generates 1000 resources every few days just sitting there and with the right buildings you can turn mats into resources. They’re not hard to farm at all and it generates them while you’re not even there. You just need to stop back and re-stock occasionally.
Oh wow, thanks for reminding me. I’ve got a pile of these sitting on a bank alt someplace and I forgot all about them. Sounds like a good time to unload them.
That was one of those high level missions that required leveling up and gearing up a bunch of followers to be able to complete, and I think it requires having at least one follower fully leveled and nearly fully geared just to show (and it shares a weekly ‘rare high level mission’ slot with the 1K for all WoD reps item, an oil cache, a pet, a mount, and a toy).
For anyone with characters that leveled and ran missions back in WoD, it’s worth checking.
For anyone else, it’s probably not worth even considering as the time and gating and resource costs to obtain all the followers, level them up, and gear them out is quite large and long.
I think one of the reasons Garrison failed is because it could do everything so people wouldn’t go out to cities and that made the world empty, so Blizzard said something like they don’t want to do that with housing, they want housing to be a reason for players to go out to the world and for friends, but I think they had a bad experience with Garrisons and all those things you could do in them
Yeah, but compared to Order resources where I can go out and complete 5 world quests and get 3000 resources in 5 minutes, it isn’t nearly fast enough. When compared to other races’ decor resource farming abilities, draenei’s is terribly slow.
What I don’t understand is that apexis crystals were recently made to be warband transferable. Why were resources not given the same treatment?
150k apexis to buy corrupted dreadwing is why, so players could gather it together from a million alts that had small amounts.
Garrison resources mainly acted as a timegate between upgrade ranks and that has no business continuing to exist.
i got a better idea, how about remove all the BS resource, and old mat requirements for decor

I’ve been working to unlock the remaining items tied to Garrison Campaign quests, in addition to just slowly getting towards exalted with Council of Exarchs.. but I’m going to end up time gated on it anyway because of these stupid garrison resources. I hate that I am spending more time in my garrison right now than my house because I’m trying to scrape together every resource I can find. This feels AWFUL.
Not disagreeing with you in any regard. But you might consider using the addon HandyNotes to scrape all the treasures and rares from Draenor, some of which give garrison resources.
