Make Fishing Great Again!

Remember the days of yester-year? You could fish up trunks and get some loots. Fish up a turtle in Northrend. Why has Blizzard cast away fishing for pretty much just food and parts? Getting the fishing pole from the Kalu’ak and beating down mobs with it. Though I haven’t done much fishing in Legion the Underlight Angler pole is my next pole to get once flying is unlocked with patch (I came back to BfA so though I did finally get flying here too lazy to go back to WoD or Legion to get flying.

I agree, fishing could give more rewards but at least BFA fishing has 1 mount.

I’d support this more if not for the bad title reference.

Try enjoying archeology and seeing the plans for shadowlands…

Is it bad?

There is no archeology in SLs

The fun bar was overloaded and had to be pruned eh?
:scream_cat:

Pruned right off of the table lol

Thanks for the info. I’m still on the fence about buying it.
The more you know!

@lhayne eh… Not trying to be political just a play on words. There’s enough hate in the world don’t hate on a joke. Be happy

Dude, I would definitely disagree that fishing is getting put on the backburner.

For one, as you pointed out, the legendary fishing pole was awesome to acquire, and has its own quest. They also added the fishing friends, if you want a recolor (I still need to get this) and Margoss. Tons of toys and a mount too.

And in BFA we have the secret fish. Sure, the reward is a toy, but I must have sunk a good 6-10 hours of fishing just to get that pretty nifty toy.

As others have stated, you want to find a derelict profession, look no further than archeology.

I wasn’t unhappy. Just messing around. lol

I agree. When WoW classic launched I got sidetracked fishing in Tanaris for chests. I fell behind the curve on leveling!

@Wulm - Not saying it is “totally” On the back burner. I would just like to see it enhanced and more enjoyable other than a “toy”. Junk piles and floating debris went away with BC and nothing came out more until WOTLK. Yes a little here and there and fish “rare” fish is challenging but better rewards and randomness to keep it exciting and not just a pole for a whole expansion or a toy.

Small correction, simply because I ran into this just this week - there’s a bunch of flotsam pools in Krasarang Wilds, on the southern coast of Pandaria. They repop crazy fast, and often you just fish up trash, but sometimes it’s crates.

(your point still stands: fishing, archeology and pickpocketting are a boring shadow of their former selves)

@Lhayne - sometimes one never knows in this day and age :kissing_heart:
@Wulm - I didn’t know that  Thanks for the info. Though I left for some time during Pandaria and just returned about a year ago.

As someone who is returning from a year in Classic for shadowlands, I would absolutely love to see fishing be able provide significant currency in shadowlands. Fishing is awesome.

I know, right? Archaeology is my go-to mindless time-waster.

I still don’t know what they’re doing with gathering professions (my main is herbalist/miner).
