LFG in this game absolutely blows. It’s mind numbing to just sit there applying to groups over and over. Doesn’t matter if it’s RBGs, arena, M+, raids. It just sucks.
Solo shuffle is a great idea. Let’s expand it to every game mode. Let the LFG tool die a miserable death, or WoW will.
Imagine if LFR could queue for the mythic version.
You open doors like that and it will be a raid composed entirely of under geared and inexperienced players all thinking they’ll be the only carry wiping on the first trash pack for a week.
For the PvP modes, I fully agree. It’s player skill vs player skill and that’s exactly what matchmaking is supposed to handle. Doesn’t even need to be solo queue specifically. All PvP should be able to be queued for.
For M+, it depends. M+ Rating is a thing, but it doesn’t really show that you’re competent, since it can never go down. It shows that you have seen x amount of content, not that you don’t fail 90% of the runs you do. I think if they revamp M+ Rating to be more like PvP rating, it’d be a reasonable thing to base a queue system off of. Current system? Nah.
Raids? Just… nah. The only successful raids will be ones filled with overgeared players who have already done their progression elsewhere and are farming something. Too much fight-specific knowledge and communication needed for queues to work well there IMO. Not to mention raid comp is somewhat of a thing and the queue isn’t going to bother thinking about that.
I’m curious what all these “make friends” people are doing to make friends. I started playing in Shadowlands with 6 real life friends. Every one of them quit within 3 months of SL launch, and not a single one has returned for DF.
I’ve BTagged loads of people when doing RBGs / arena this season. Joined several communities that are PvP related. Half the time I still end up applying to groups for 30 minutes or more when I log in.
The population is trending downard. As time goes on, there will be fewer and fewer people logging in. Eventually WoW will have to do something to allow people to jump into content without waiting for other players. Historically many MMOs have had to do this. To think that WoW will be exempt is folly.
Nonsense. There are so few 2200+ RBG groups running right now that you could sit for hours without even seeing one in the group finder. Just because you’re at 1600 and find plenty of groups doesn’t mean that’s the experience for everyone.
