Make Enhancement Shaman a Tank?

If Paladin can be all tank, healer, DPS, then why can’t Shaman be the same? Is it a bias in favor of the Alliance?

So far, Shaman has been the counterpart class to Paladin. I remember from the very first days of this game, Shaman and Paladin used to be the exclusive classes to the Horde and Alliance, respectively. Then when BC came out the new races - BElf and Draenei - was the only way for a faction to experience what they did not have. Lorewise they are the spiritual leaders of their faction, and in fact, some of the most important figures of the Horde/Alliance have been Shaman/Paladin. Shaman has always been the Horde version of Paladin, so if Paladin can fill all three roles, why can’t Shaman?

Here, Enhancement Shaman would be an idea candidate for a new tank (in fact, they were almost a tank at some point, I believe). Fantasy-wise, they would use the power of the elements to power themselves and to draw and withstand the attacks from the enemy. This is exactly what Thrall did in the intro to WoD when he and Maraad spearheaded the assault on Draenor.

Nawh. I main enhancement on my shaman. Shaman also doesn’t need to counter paladin anymore, hasn’t since TBC when both factions got both classes.

I’d 100% support a tank spec for shaman. Not an existing spec, but an additional one. It would be awesome.

I personally have always wished they would give shaman a tank spec or stance.

Why not ask for a Fourth Spec than remaking the Dps Spec into a Tank One.

Earthwarder for example.

Like Druid, they could use a 4th spec and create a tank version. Perhaps 2H tank, using the earth as armor, or some jazz…

I always felt shamans should’ve had a 4th spec for tanking, based around earth, it would have given them a spec focused around each of the 4 elements.

But sadly I don’t see extra specs ever becoming a thing

I don’t think Enh should be changed to a tank. It’s been a pure DPS spec for a while, and changing it would be… alienating.

Agreed! Fourth spec for Shaman! Bring back Rockbiter Weapon and give them Earthshield. Bam! Earthwarden tank spec!
