Title, make Classic free to play as Blizzard does nothing at all with the problems brought up by players such as botting, rmt, exploitation, etc.
Then when Blizzard does do something once in every blue moon it makes you wish they went back to doing nothing.

Blizzard has made some nasty changes and updates. They also added 58 Boosts which is bad for the game, but players also bought them so…
The player base has also made the game into a Min-Max, gold buying, society.
Making classic free to play obviously isn’t an option, if you spend $15 a month x 12 months = $180. That’s probably the price of 2 AAA games.
2 AAA games a year sounds about right.
I’m not defending Blizzards changes but I’m also not going to defend how toxic and nasty the players have made the game and its society in-game.

Let’s say that Blizzard did make a version of Classic f2p - how do you expect them to recover the costs of developing, deploying, and maintaining the server(s)?
The game would absolutely have to have micro transactions to just recover the cost of managing this. What types of micro transactions should be added to a classic version?

Give Classic its own sub instead and hire some Classic Andies to maintain it with the revenues.

Fondly enough I’d pay an extra $5 per month knowing someone who actually likes/plays the game is taking care of it.

Answer: the game isn’t worth 2 paid subs to some people. They run the 1 account, only. A 2nd is not worth the added $15 to them.
Make it free…dual box or more away. See eve. When i got the eve itch a bit back I spammed 1 paid account, and a few free alpha’s. Alpha is their ftp account with ship use restrictions and limited training/skillleveling potential.
I’d run alt accounts I did not care about the restrictions to work some angles in the game for the paid main account. Free made the price break appealing lol.
For ship/gear limitations…I used named/faction gear and ship. Or plain ole tech 1. And those accounts had high skill point level chars. I was done training them new skill points literally years ago really.
It would be nice if they made a separate sub for classic servers through wrath or w/e maybe $10 a month or something, but I doubt it happens

Well technically Classic is Free to play! Since you can buy a WoW token on retail! And even if your paying $15 a month you really think that $15 a month is paying the 2 interns running on their hamster wheels in the basement of blizzard to keep this game running? No that $15 a month is paying to keep retail devs employeed and the retail servers up.
