Make blood elves cool again

I remember a few people raged quit over that questline when Lordaeron stayed in forsaken hands and didn’t go alliance like some people kept insisting it would.

BfA was a wild time man. For all of us. I think we were all collectively miserable about the overall story and how it went down

Im not sure if I keep liking this positioning as cool, and not to pick on you but just one of the most recent references. There really isnt anything cool about society wide genocide surviving trauma falling into morally dubious martial law and a siege development sort of system while trying to retain some semblance of past glory/status.

Just a reframing as darkly pragmatic, martially rigid with a major focus on magic denial (we can let the nightborne have superiority, or swap it, idc as long as magic is recentered and the two made distinct), cunning and cruel to their enemies, bordering sadistic, aggressively protective of their own, as well as a very vain, gourmand, decadent, hedonistic, and arrogant society masking very real pain deep in the psyche of everyone left. Entire blood lines were lost and its nearly impossible for there not to be a person alive during that time who was spared loss.

It, in my eyes, should be a very flawed society trying to painfully climb back out of the horrific situation its people has found itself in. That provides room for immense growth and development too. They dont have to, or should, stay stagnant like that but survivors should be extremely suspect and rigid in changing the ways that have kept them alive the past 30 years as those who grew up after, not all of course, question methods and reasoning like Salandria. It doesnt have to be all 40k grim dark, but it should be darker than “I feel it… so much love… so much grace… there are… no words… impossible to describe…”

So in short they should be compelling. They should be unique. They should have a hook beyond ‘pretty elf’ and +1% chance to crit (which my H Pal does very much appreciate). Cool though… I wouldnt exactly call any of that ‘cool.’

Erevien say it with me, “Let it go! Let it go! It’s not worth the faction war~!”

Silvermoon will eventually host both factions just like Amirdrassil. It still will be Blood Elf as that’s the leadership, but with so many Void/High Elves in the Alliance its time both factions serve the common interests of Quel’thelas against the forces of the Void. Agree to disagree and accept Midnight is coming!

Void elves had no issue killing us with glee. I will never accept them. No human Male Paladin will ever marry their high elf wife in Silvermoon while I am still alive.

I agree, it will likely happen.

I think there will be a new neutral part at best. Where both sides can hang out.

At worst… there will be a new half of the city rebuilt for Alliance only, all majestic and magnificent- while the BC / Horde half will be ignored.

I think the city will be rebuilt in full and I think it will even be expanded to be like Suramar or I hope it becomes like it. One representing the fullness that is the Thalassian people. Ultimately whether we like it or not Midnight is set in northern Eastern Kingdoms.

Or we go to a different planet and the Sunwell will only be used as staging ground for the void invasion. We might see Averloren and the Arathi Empire instead of turning Eversong(A starting zone) into endgame content.

Quel’thalas in general is most likely getting upgraded and pulled out of the TBC phasing it’s been in for years now. Hopefully anyway.

I would love to see a modern silvermoon :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

modern Silvermoon is not the problem. Blizzard pretending the alliance elves have any claim after 17 years Horde ownership is. You don’t suddenly declare orcs be welcome in Stormwind would you?

Orcs don’t share a common ancestry with stormwind humans though. Only thing separating Void/High/Blood elves are their political beliefs. Not that I’m saying they have a claim, just stating the difference between the two

Void elves dabble in the most dangerous force in the Warcraft universe and openly declared for humanity over the government of the blood elves who are not corrupted. Not to mention Umbric gleefully killing our allies during Bfa. It makes no sense to let them bak in after all these major offenses.

You could say that about a lot of things regarding both factions and yet atrocities get sweeped under the rug regardless in order to defeat the expansions big bad

A functionally neutral Silvermoon under blood elf rule is the best case scenario. The alternative is a canonically neutral Silvermoon infested with Horde-hating Alliance elves.

To put it another way, it’s the difference between the tolerance of Horde PCs in Bel’ameth and Tyrande giving half her city over to the Forsaken.

Blizzard will find a way to make the blood elves sidelined even in their own city. That is why I am awlays expecting the worst.

Difference is there isn’t a single Horde NPC in either Gilneas or Bel’ameth. Silvermoon might become the new Dalaran just because the high elf fans complained hard enough.

Lore wise, orcs are allowed in stormwind. Game engine just doesn’t allow it.

Good they deserve worse but it’s a start.

you are not a true Horde fan then. Orc supremacy was never a thing-

And you are in no position to judge, no elf lover is in any position to judge. Although I greatly disapprove of it’s choice of allies (namely elves.) I live and die for the Horde.

I’ve got no problem with other Horde races, only elves. They were only added to the Horde as a band-aid and a poorly conceived one at that. The people that choose to play them I want nothing to do with and so I choose not to play with those players as is my right and no one can force me to do otherwise.

They were added to give the horde a much needed population boost. It’s funny how the number of horde players skyrocketed during TBC and blood elves are still to this day, the most played and popular horde race

Edit: The only elves that are overdone in the story are the Kaldorei. The other elven races need some love and attention now

Blood elves will become interesting when they merge with high elves and void elves at Midnight. They will finally be a people united to defend their kingdom together.
