it’s hard nowadays to find black lotus. the bot and gold farmers everywhere
On bloodsail it’s pretty easy to find them. It’s not a mega server though.
Reasonable idea
I like how you think that would stop bots from getting it.
There are rogues/druids and of course Night Elves just afk camping spots. Mostly in BRM where you can camp 3-4 spawns at once.
Bots get slaughtered in the open world, even on dead servers bots can not compete with humans.
There are no bots farming lotus, I know because I farm them on both a dead server and high pop server, believe me when I say bots dont stand a chance, black lotus bots don’t even exist anymore, the teleport ones got patched out months ago.
The people standing on the nodes are players who afk on a node while doing other activities in the off chance is spawns ontop of them, not bots, not cheating, legit strat.
Lotus is rare, you’re not supposed to be able to find it easily, working as intended.
Not only this, but how exactly would the change stop what’s currently going on? The character actually looting the lotus already has 300 skill (plus enchants, etc.). The only person who might not currently have 300 that would have to is the hunter using eagle eye. That’s not exactly a huge hurdle to overcome.
How would this change anything? They’d just get 300 herb
I want some of whatever it is that you’re smoking.
Buddy this is just lol. I can link a screenshot of a Hunter bot in Silithus on my server farming them right now. Same Hunter has been online 24/7 for the past 3 weeks.
I always thought that herbs/nodes that you didn’t have the skill to harvest should NOT show up on your mini-map tracking anyway. WoW crafting design is just so lame, in so many ways.
I think there are still lots of bots. But a lot of what you said is correct.
The bots pick up the slack. If anything is up for long they are going to get it.
That’s what bots exceed at, they don’t have peak efficiency. They have unlimited uptime and “patience”.
Instead of changing game mechanics that affect legitimate players, how about Acti/Blizz goes after and bans the accounts farming/gold selling lotus for RMT profit.
OH wait, they don’t do that at all. So normal players are actively punished by being unable to farm resources on their own. $15/month is a joke. But please, keep reporting those bots so blizzard doesn’t have to. One day they might get a half hour account ban.
Make them not visible via eagle eye and you will be swimming in them!
There are shaman farmers who use the same method on sulfuras.
Botters/farmers would then just move on to the next trick.
The only solution is for Acti/Blizz to actually police their game and remove these RMT farmers from the equation.
IMHO, the best idea would be to change BLotus to be a random drop from other herbs, like swiftthistle.
I believe that happens in TBC, sadly that is when lotus become somewhat irrelevant.
Remember level 1 ghost scouts, pepperidge farms remembers.
I ranked with a guy who did this (the level 1 ghost thing, my quote got take out by the system). He also botted AV on two characters. He had 10 accounts or something.
I still remember him chuckling to himself when someone was complaining about how they had no gold as they spent all their time PVPing.
I definitely member
