Make Azerite level account bound

I want to be able to play my alts without needing to do content I don’t like, I don’t mind world quests and I don’t hate island expeditions but I need to do them to make an alt close to playable at the content I want to be able to do.

So please as the title says make azerite level account bind so alts are a valid at end game. Please and thanks

Another option would be to allow azerite levels past 10 to be constantly affected by the catch up mechanic rather then stopping at 1000. Even with the catchup mechanic now because of the hard stop of a 1000 per level it is 20k min just to hit azerite level 30. Unlike in Legion where you could breeze through artifact levels at once because they didn’t limit it.

Wasn’t that 7.2 though that the catch up mechanic was introduced?

It definitely was not that way initially.

Technically there was ak knowledge books available per character since the beginning up to ak 25 (right number I think?), wasn’t till 7.2 that it became account wide and a weekly thing. That said because they decided to do it the opposite way of lowering the amount per level needed rather then increasing the amount given it has slowed down the process for alts since there is that 1000 hard limit per level beginning at 10 with rewards giving the exact same amount as in the beginning of the expac.

I don’t think AK system is enough, it needs to be account bound in my opinion. An alt will still never be as good as a main no matter how much time you put into it.

I just hit level 120 a week or two ago and I’m already at Azerite level 30. It seemed to take month to get that high on my main.

No argument that is has been increasingly easier my statement is what I want to say is I do not enjoy the grind and I think enough people don’t enjoy it either I don’t mind grinding for gear or materials but just grinding for planet crack which isn’t really real it just feels like a chore.

I know it makes my player strong but I’d rather just obtain items to make my character stronger. I am having a real hard time explaining why the grinding of azerite power just doesn’t feel like real progression.

But this process actually speeds it up for alts. As all alts get this. Passively. Regardless of when they were created.

Initially you had to do work orders, that you could not even start until you hit max level. Right now I can be AP 20+ by the time I hit max level. That wasn’t possible in Legion. Because you had zero catch up mechanic while leveling. And then it was what…1 level per 4 days after hitting max level?

The BFA catch up mechanic is 1000x better for alts than Legion’s was (at this point in the expansion).

Honestly, I really haven’t gone out of my way to grind Azerite. I’ve gotten that level just by doing the emissaries.

Fact is, the first time you play through on your main/a new alt on the second faction, yeah, it’s easy to get the neck level up. You’re doing everything, raising reps, seeing all the new content, gearing up from scratch, it all encourages passive AP farming.

… but on your alt, and your alt’s alt, you’ve been there done that, and it feels like a horrible friggin chore to redo every tiny step that let you get to the mid-30s “without trying” on your main — which leaves you with instead the equal chore of literally farming AP instead.

I don’t know if I think the whole thing should be account bound, but there really ought to be some way to make this a little less painful for altaholics, yeah.

How is that an issue when the second you hit max level near the end of legion you got 5 ranks of concordance with one world quest?

Because I am comparing Legion 7.1 vs BFA 8.1. You are comparing apples and oranges if you look at the benefits of alts from the BEGINNING of BFA and the END of Legion. I fully expect every expansion to be more alt friendly at the end, than an expansion at the beginning. Thats how catch up mechanics work over time.

Of course when BFA gets to the end it will have insane catch up mechanics as well.

If your argument is that the beginning of BFA should have end expansion catch up mechanics, I will have to disagree.

I will give you that its more alt friendly, but it doesnt carry the same weight Legion did, you had progression, where as azerite is just a stat stick that lets you unlock traits you probably had previous.
Account bound would fix this issue if your main is level 40 I dont see why alts cant be

Personally, I am getting tired of WoW being pushed towards being an account progression game. I prefer character progression games.

If WoW becomes an account progression game, I will just end up quitting.

Catch up mechanics don’t bother me. With in reason.

A person that starts an expansion late, for example, shouldn’t be eternally kept behind others, even as new raid tiers open up.

A person that wants to main change, shouldn’t be regulated to second class, because their azerite will never catch up.

Accountwide azerite is different.

Oh my god yes please. Currently grinding AP on 8 characters.

what purpose does azerite serve other than to unlock traits and give a slight boost in stats?

It is a form of character progression. I could make a statement like that about 1/2 the game.

What purpose does gear serve other than to give a slight boost in stats.

What purpose does leveling serve other than to unlock spells.

I would rather see the end of AP systems altogether and go back to just looting our loot. All the abilities put into artifacts like weapons last expansion and now our neck/azerite pieces could have been talents to make the leveling process less dull while still providing variation among players.
Doing anything regularly for “upkeep” on gear feels bad and there’s no reason I should fall behind in raid viability by not wanting to save any more sea turtles or run boring islands.
