Make arena/pvp more streamlined

since the release of the mop remix event I’ve noticed how good this could be for the pvp scene, imagine making a PvP only character where you spawn in with a bunch of vendors that you can pick any gear with gems enchants ect without spending currency then hoping straight into arena, i know some people like gearing and progression but most of us play multiple classes and specs and do different comps why not make it easier for us to get into the fun part of arena instead of doing tedious tasks. The main reason pvp is a dying breed is the work you have to put in just to be able to compete

I don’t think you realize how small of a group the “pvp only” crowd is.

Ease of access isn’t the only thing that keeps players from coming in and competing in a ranked mode. One major issue with arena is the loss of confidence from players in the balancing aspect and the game mode being kind of a meme, since the game is largely PvE based.

This is just one issue, but there are several more. Adding in a MoP remix type of event for PvP wouldn’t do much that the base game already doesn’t have besides being able to create max level alts and attain max level gear; which at that point, would be a completely different game and many of those mechanics would no longer make sense.

it would make it so pve people wouldn’t have to go and attain new sets of gear just to play pvp and anyone could do it, if anything people would be more inclined to pvp since they don’t have to do all the bull to play my main issue with pvp is i have to grind to get gear just so i can play arena is stupid if you ask me legion was the most fun besides artifact power grind

It’d prob be better to just make gearing and leveling easier. But, this isn’t that big of a deterrent because PvP participation is at the highest at the start of an xpac and lvling/gearing is at it’s most difficultly at that point. If ease of access to jump in and play was a major reason why people don’t like to play arena, that would not be true.

idk im just saying why not make it just easy to jump into me personally i just don’t have the will power to grind for a new set of gear every season just tedious

I’d argue this crowd is a fair majority of the arena scene.

I know very few people that actually engage in PvE

But, a lot of those people still enjoy the gear grind and customizing their stats

Right, I was saying that a standalone game wouldn’t be a great idea, but making things easier to farm is definitely the path they should take. I personally don’t mind a small grind, but when it becomes too much, I agree that it’s bad for the game.

Like, I have to farm the legendary axe on this warrior just to become viable? That’s wild that I have to do that because I don’t enjoy raiding. Maybe making these things being able to be purchased with some PvP currency is the way.

you’ll still be able to customize stats ect but i just don’t get the purpose other then the dopamine boost and bullying kids that haven’t done the grind

This it pretty much it. I don’t care for it either

excatly but for someone that plays multiple classes/specs a small grind just becomes a big one for example i play ret/ww/rshaman/feral but im forced to do a grind on all of them if i want to play any of them in pvp

Oh 100%. I hate playing more than 2 toons because it’s exhausting to gear them up.

It’s pretty crazy that almost the entirety of arena forum regulars are in the top 3% of a ladder

PvP community is definitely minuscule atm

But I also support OP as a PvP only player. Screw gearing. I need alts to avoid burnout. I play this game too much as is and don’t need weekly sets of chores to avoid falling behind competitively

It’s easier now than most expansions when pvp participation was much higher. Not that I disagree with what you’re getting at but I think the reason pvp is ta a low can more or less be summed up to pvp being bad, it’s a chain reaction to the other reasons, also they ban anyone now for just being mean. The ladder is missing a dozen more healers buffing up the inflation by me alone if they didn’t ban me.

like in legion was my favorite expansion later in the season because i could hop any max level character with 0 gear and just play the game. only part of legion that wasn’t fun was having everyone with the exact build but if blizzard did the idea that i previously mention you could still have diverse builds ect but wouldn’t have to grind it out too me pvp has always been about arena and just playing, and it would make it so much easier for just anyone to get into it

Nah let him cook. at least a zone just for strict pvp. groups no bigger than 2 or 3 were we can kill each other while we wait for q’s etc with different pvp world quest and rewards , something like arshran but not arshran.

I miss the Isle from BC.

I’ll tl:dr this for you. this, and other, projects need to be pitched to the PvE lords so it can waterfall to the PvP game mode. as it stands, PvP as a mode will never get unique, PvP only functions.

why? because inclusivity. we say the same thing all day every day on these forums.

it has to come from a PvE POV and more than likely be lore relevant as best it can. I figured we learned this from the 19 year span on this.

If everyone who played ss maintained one heal spec they could gear practically infinite alts

It’s not just the gear issues. Arena is focused on killing one player as quick as possible. That might be fun to do once in awhile, but continuing to hold it up as top tier pvp content in WoW is a horrible decision. And balancing around it proved to be a nighmare resulting in all sorts of balancing issues in every other form of pvp content.

Let me repeat…

MOST PLAYERS DO NOT ENJOY ARENA. THEY ONLY DO IT BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY PATH FOR “MOST” PVP REWARDS.

I’m not sure what the rewards will be for Blitz Brawl, but if they are equivalent to what arena is offering, I bet arena participation will plummet even further.
