Well there’s actually quite a few. But I think the point i was making is that somewhere along the line someone is paying for it. From blizzards perspective they dont care where the money comes from.
Personally I hope everyone takes your advice, as the more people that buy tokens with gold, the lower the price drops on them lol
All things considered I find it funny that people, GD specifically, love to call out dedicated raiders for making the game a job and then you got people mathing out how to be able to play for free with a time investment into the game.
Make no mistake, grinding gold to play the game for free turns playing into a job guys. You like that content that makes you your gold then that’s great for you, but for the people who see callings and world content or gold grinding as a chore they don’t want to do since they’d rather be raiding or M+ well you’re creating work for them. Shoe is on the other foot and people don’t seem to realize it.
I’ve got 6 toons at cap, 2 of which I’ve mostly shelved because meh. The other 4, I do the callings semi regularly. I’m already earning paragon caches on 1 of the 4, but soon.
Only 4 factions this time around, as opposed to 5 at the start of BFA ( Tortollans, 3 zones and war campaign faction). So paragon caches should start rolling in with a bit more frequency, and it’s always either 1500 or 2000 exp without any buffs.
Paragon caches + callings trash items= easy gold.
As for time investment, the most time consuming calling is probably the 3 dailies one, and like the OP stated, sometimes you can just wait and see if you’ll get a fill the bar and bang out two in one instead.
Hmmm…Lightforged Warframe, here I come!
Once you add in the paragon caches the gold generation goes way up.
1.5K gold a day x 3 = 4.5K x 30 = 135k a month
If all 3 toons have enough rep for paragon boxes that’s another 45k - 60k a month
So realistically, you could pull in 200K a month doing 3 callings a day…or about 1 hour of playtime each day

I don’t understand the logic, but hey it keeps people playing.
Why play just to pay for a sub? I play to have fun and have no issues knowing that my opportunity is good for six months if I need to take break.
You are looking at that backwards…
You don’t play just to pay for a sub…you pay for a sub just by playing.
You are playing a game and generating actual money value by completing something you would probably already do.
Even if you don’t use the money for play time, you can use it to buy other games, items, or services from the blizz store
Or?
I could work one hour of overtime and make enough to pay almost 3 months worth of sub on the 1 month sub plan…
Then only need to worry about playing what I want, when I want.
Think I’d rather do that hehe~

This is what I meant. Said it better
Granted, this method isn’t worth while for everyone…
But a lot of people, especially right now, don’t have the opportunity to make $45 in a hour.
Truth. I lucked out. Right place right time, useful trade skill and whatnot. Only a year ago I was making $10 less an hour with zero overtime possibilities.
shrug
But my point still stands. Even on min wage an hour of overtime should more than cover a monthly sub.
I wouldn’t even play the current state of WoW for free. I wouldn’t play it if they paid me a subscription to play it. I just want them to make a game worth paying for, like they have in the past.
You wouldn’t play WoW if they paid you? Dang, you must really dislike this game.
I dislike what it is at the moment, but I’ve really liked this game in the past. But free or not, I can’t find enjoyment with the current design choices.
I’m hoping it remedies.
I make decent gold. I also make decent money. I’ve come to find that the gold I make is more valuable than the $15 needed to play this game.
Yes, I agree. That is what my wife does and she loves the free gifts and cheaper price. Highly recommended for long term players.

ikr. 15$ is about 2 hours of work but paying with in game gold can take hours and hours of game time.
people really dont get how your time is worth money too…
Work minimum wage for 2 hours, play wow free! It’s also more time efficient than farming callings for for enough gold to buy a token.
But honestly, blizzard is with you. They make more money for each person paying for their sub via tokens than they do on the normal subscription.
Paying for WoW with wages from working is the opposite of free.
