One of the biggest issues with raid gatekeeping is that if you don’t have an established raid group or friends willing to carry your newly leveled 60 alt through dungeons or raids for gear, you’re basically out of luck.
A possible solution would be a daily solo quest that allows players to slowly earn currency (such as reels) to purchase Tier 1 and Tier 2 gear. This would make it much easier for newer or returning players to gear up and get into raids, rather than struggling to find a spot while wearing mostly blue or green gear.
This approach would help bridge the gap for players without established connections while still keeping raid progression meaningful.
I don’t see an issue with this. They could have a pool of different quests but assign 5 per day (just concentrated in WPL/EPL/Deadwind Pass for the phase. Maybe 1 day its 5 quests in EPL, the next 5 in WPL, the next 5 in Deadwind). Have them reward 1-2 reals each.
Why do we need a daily quest for reals when dungeons already grant reals to get your raid prepped?
I’m not against it per se, but it’s not like the current situation is once you hit 60 you’re just blocked from raiding because you have no sources for gearing. I’ve spent the last two weeks doing dungeons as often as I can and am now in half T1 and T2 with a few decent dungeon drops. Basically ready to pug raid now.
Just add a dungeon daily that gives you 5 reals on top of what the dungeon already gives. I like that idea way, way, way more than trying to add new quests that are tuned to be less efficient than dungeons (making them irrelevant for 95+% of SoD players as most players who need reals can run dungeons). And they have to be less efficient than dungeons because we care about keeping dungeons alive way more than we care about the X% of friendless returning players with no ST gear unable to queue dungeons.
Yeah this is fine. I think this is “overdesigning” a system that was fine to begin with. Hard mode scaling and seal scaling and sanctified gear have created a great divide between a fresh 60 and most/all raid teams.
This was never a problem in the past, we could just bring whoever and they could slowly gear with scraps in raid. Now we could still do this, but the person would just be perma-dead the entire raid. In an established guild run, this is ok…but no pugs will ever allow a person without 8/8 sanct…7/7 seal…900+ gs…etc.
Better to just not have 1. overpowered kits and 2. hard mode scaling in the the future.
By the time you hit 60 you should have enough reals to purchase at minimum 2 pieces of t1. Brd scholo and strat UBRS AND LBRS will give you enough for 3 pieces You should be doing these any ways for attunements…
Then next day reset will give you 4rth piece and 1 t2. Then the dragons give t2 as well.
Try getting into a strat or scholo with greens and blues lmao they’ll boot you. They only want “pumpers” for fast real runs. Even if you make a group and they see your gear score or gear then they’ll leave ive had it done numerous times on my alt its damn near impossible lol the tank said “sh*tter in blues yeah im out” then the party disbanded lmao. The community is so damn toxic unless ypu have friends or a guild you aint getting into anything.
