Make a MSQ

That goes through all expansions to catch new players up please.

Would be helpful for a “caverns of time”-esque tldr questline that takes the player through main events as they level.

whats an msq? why abbreviate it

Main Story Quest, basically what campaign quests are in WoW, except a central one to tie all storylines together for new players during leveling.

No, go play ff14 if you want that.

wow should be copying ff14s successes

It’s not a success, you gotta do 100 hours of msq to get to end game. That’s bad game design.

and people love almost every minute of that story.

pray return to the waking sands

thats why i said almost every minute

i disliked ARR

arr was the entire reason i couldn’t get through/into the game and get into endgame
some people want to experience the game where their friends are and being railroaded for weeks of questing is insanely frustrating and aggravating

theres a skip available on the in game shop

Mmmm I don’t think this idea fits with the game.
It fits well with FFXIV because its designed to be heavy story-oriented. WoW has a story too, don’t get me wrong, but the interest is greater on killing things and loot.

but then i won’t get the story
idk i guess im just an impatient fickle idiot that wants two contradictory things at once

realistically
it could just do with the option for a cliffnotes of questing experience that hits the broad beats of a release rather than the entire thing
either way im fine with not enjoying it
the people i wanted to play it with are playing wow again or quit ff altogether lmao

the only important moment in ARR you need is the final cutscene that takes 20 minutes

Wow is in a weird situation where it really wants to tell a coherent story, but does literally everything it possibly can to make it as incomprehensible as humanly possible to actually follow.

Providing an actual MSQ type storyline, that properly leads the characters through an expansions entire plotline would only be a benefit to this story they want us to believe they care about.

And if this has to be done exclusively thru an optional Chromie Saga thing so people who dont care can skip all of it then that would still be infinitely better than having to rely on Youtube to understand the story.

wow just needs to stop gating questlines behind renown and instead take those side questlines and make them major enough to have as a main campaign quest

the awakening of tyr was a side quest lol shouldve been main quest

The problem here is the difference between a side quest and a main quest is just different shaped Exclamation marks, that are just thrown on the screen with no guidance on which is first on a timeline.

Even ignoring the dumb time gates, the story is still a bloody mess to follow.

legion had the best story sequence

Agreed.

I’d like to see “in a nutshell” scenarios or short quest chains that get toons up to speed.

1-10 Exile’s Reach
11-20 Classic Express Tour
21-30 Burning Crusade Cliff Notes
31-35 Wrath of The Lich King Mini
36-40 Micro-Cataclysm
41-45 Sierra Mists of Pandaria
46-50 Warlordlets of Draenor
51-55 Legionette
56-60 Scuffle for Azeroth
61-65 Shadelands
66-70 Whelplingflight

Don’t sweat the experience – just grant players enough to be X level by the end of each vignette.

Total time: 3-4 hours tops.

Then BOOM – you’re caught up and ready for TWW.
