Make 5-man premades queue against other 5-man premades in random bgs

What you’re saying is that gear doesn’t matter in PvP.

he’s saying people would just twink low ilvl brackets

They added an option to queue rated as 5 players?

No?

Did Blizzard make it against the rules to queue up to 5 for casual BG’s?

No?

It’s time to suck it up and accept 5 mans are supported by Blizzard. There is premade matchmaking, but it isn’t perfect.

You’re free to go play a single player game if that isn’t acceptable.

Exactly. But if there’s dialogue, maybe we can work towards the solution.

This is actually industry standard now. As far as I know, all newer video game titles are equalizing the number of premades on both sides.

IIRC League of Legends does it

AFAIK, the Russian company’s World of Tanks (and their Ships and Planes) allows a premade of 3 players max in a 12 vs 12 matchmaking, and forces +/-1 premades on each side. In other words, if your team of 12 has one 3-player premade, the enemy team of 12 can never have more than 2 premades.

This was implemented after experiments in Alpha and Beta. There was a version without such limits, and the premade-heavy team was consistently making the game unplayable for the hapless solo players on the other side.

For WoW where the allowable premade size is already quite large at the party of 5 (should be 3 in my opinion), matchmaker should force a +/-0 premades on each side. I.e. exactly like what OP said.

If that’s true, I guess all arena and rbg players are doomed to stay at their current MMR.

rated MMR resets to some degree every season. if unrated had a standing hidden mmr, without a regular reset people would fall into MMR silos and be stuck for all intents and purposes, permanently.

even then, wow’s implementation is wacky and seems to just randomly screw over some players. recently i’ve been tanking rbgs, mostly i sit on a flag and do nothing. of course smart players leave me alone so basically see no action. technically im playing 100% correct, yet when my team wins, i get 0 cr, when my team loses, i lose 14-16 cr. im playing correctly yet losing cr, other member on my team who are actually doing something that could weight losing are not losing as much rating, and they gain rating when we win.

they gain rating for winning, i don’t, what gives?

With enough experience, you should be able to spot a pre-made within the first two minutes.

If they are cross-server they can do things that might make you suspect they are together (covering for each other, peeling for each other, showing up with each other at the same objectives) but you still can’t be sure.

Good players will often be together because BGs are about being at the right place at the right time and good players will cover and peel for their team mates even if they aren’t a premade.

Side note on meaningless experience jab: my honor level is higher than yours

When I PvP on my Rogue its very easy to spot a premade in the first minute. For example: Warsong Gulch when I do the typically Rogue thing and sap the last person in line. You can tell its a premade if the everyone from the same server as the sapped player turns around INSTANTLY and simultaneously.

If they are from the same server. But, I actively look for sapped players in that situation myself if I’m in a premade or not. Why? Because I have a lot of time spent playing rogue myself so I know what to look for and I know what a rogue is wanting to do.

Here is an example of what I’m saying in action.

Step 1: Notice berserker is gone
Step 2: Realize our healer is in danger
Step 3: Give a wide berth to bait the rogue out
Step 4: Deny their berserker+saltwater healer gank

You don’t need to be in a premade to prevent this, you just need to be aware.

The video does not depict what I’m describing. I’m talking about INSTANT reaction time of 4 players responding to a sap the second after it happens. As a Rogue, I noticed maybe only 1 or 2 people respond to saps in the backline, and even then they don’t dont respond immediately. This is because premades are usually using VC.

All the steps you describe are very valid strategies, but you only rarely see that level of coordination among cross-server/random teams.

Yeah, if they are from the same server it is pretty much a guarantee. I’m just saying that even in a pug you will (sometimes) have experienced players panning their camera back to see if any trailers are getting sapped.

If I see this, by default, I assume it’s a premade. It makes getting stomped eastier to rationalize.

That really doesn’t mean much. It’s my understanding that honor level is somehow calculated in a way that takes into account alts. So when you see someone with I high honor level, they probably have quite a few alts.

I only play one character which causes my honor level increase a slow rate.

i do this all the time for pugs and people i dont know, and the more i do it, the more i see people doing it. karma pays you back eventually and people often stop for me when im sapped.

eventually it should get to the point where only noob rogues use sap giving away their presence.

Taking someone out of the fight for 8 seconds? Noob strat right there.

Hey, I often assume that too. It helps with the cope. :stuck_out_tongue:

But, unless it’s super obvious - same guild tags, I have to give the benefit of the doubt.

It means literally nothing. I think once people are past a certain experience level (far lower than where we are), they know the win conditions and what to look out for in random BGs, at least.
