*Major FPS fix for Dell G7 15 7588 laptops*

Friends, I am posting this because I can think of no other choice than to share with you what I discovered tonight. After years and years and YEARS of playing WoW struggling to get 30 or 40 fps, and often having graphics “stutter” and “lag” when any sort of interesting thing started to happen in the game, I have found the solution for this rig. It was posted in the nether regions of the Dell support pages, and I share it now with love:

To fix the issue just follow these steps:

  • Search for Dell Power Manager and turn up Thermal settings to Ultra Performance from Optimised. To give your fans a boost.

  • Turn off Turbo Mode for the CPU. Just restart the PC and press F2 at the Dell logo. Find Turbo Boost in Bios settings and disable it. This will significantly reduce CPU temperature as it no longer will overclock the processor unnecessarily.

  • Download Asus GPU tweak 2 and install it. This will let you adjust temperature limits for the CPU and GPU. Once installed go into the advanced options and set max temperature a little less than 77%C ( 72%-76%) as the bug happens when it hits 77C%. Also you might see over all performance decrease if set under 70%C so I don’t suggest it. Let the software always run.

That’s pretty much it. Now all games will run cooler and are lag free. I have tested it on Apex legends and Starwars Jedi fallen order at Max settings and am getting over 70 Fps Consistently.

That’s the post. I did it, and when I first logged into WoW I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was getting 150 fps with the settings I had been using for years that used to bring me 30-40 fps MAX. Steady, unyielding fps that didn’t stutter at the first sign of a magic spell or ability being cast. I hope this helps you as much as it has helped me. I’m playing on graphics level 10, ULTRA HIGH SETTINGS, with creamy, smooth framerates that make my nerdy brain leak happy juice. I’m completely psyched. Never thought this would happen… ever!

Much love.

you can also just go to dell bios and tell ur laptop to run from AC CORD and not from battery… ( depents of ur DELL BIOS )

its where most of the DELL laptops are capped…

they are configured to run from battery instead of the AC CORD even when connected into the energy… This makes the power of the cpu to throttle… .is very bad for music producers, graphic designers and gamers…

Removing the battery if you are just on AC.
Cant create heat charging nothing.

Thanks for the share…have fun.
I remember the 7 beeps…I have one of those laptops.

bump … the tip for using a chip temp controller is extremely helpful!
