Major fps drop when NOT moving camera with the mouse

So this is a weird issue. I’ve been using DX11 lately because of the Nvidia flickering issue, which should be resolved with the latest driver release. So naturally I play some WoW to test. On DX12, I now get the problem of MAJOR fps dropping when NOT using the mouse to move my camera, with either the left or right mouse button.

While moving the camera, my fps is normal at around 100 fps, but if I let go of the mouse button, it drops to 30 and sometimes less to even 7 fps!! But as soon as I click and hold to move my camera, my fps jump back up to 90 to 120 ish.

I haven’t been able to find any other topics with this issue.

This doesn’t seem to happen using DX11.

I’m using a wireless Logitech G604 and have latest software. I’ve tried adjusting the poling rate and nothing. Even with the mouse turned OFF, the fps stays at 30 or less until I click a button and move my camera.

Also, fps return to normal when I alt tab to something else and have WoW in the background.

Any ideas?! Please help! I finally want to use DX12!!

Edit: So it looks like it’s not an issue with my mouse, but an issue with the Windows Gamebar. When I turn that off, everything seems to run normal. Perhaps it’s an issue with overlays in general? Still doesn’t happen with DX11, only 12, and I don’t seem to have any issues with any other games.

Really sucks because I kinda like the Gamebar and use it for clips all the time.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Edit 2: Okay! Might have the REAL solution. Turned off the GPU Scheduling option in the Windows graphics settings, restarted and viola! Gamebar, DX12 and everything. Working good so far, no FPS drops. I hope this helps others out there!

Turning off GPU scheduling mostly fixed it for me as well. Still barely noticeable but way better than half a second hiccups just from moving the mouse.

edit: I ended going back to dx11 no problems now. I used dx12 before even with flickering, but the mouse thing is new and makes it unplayable.

hey i have this exact same issue, did turning off gpu work? if so how do i do that?

Yes, turning off the GPU scheduling in Windows settings fixed the fps issues for me. You can just search for Graphics in settings and the option should be right there.
