They certainly can and I could cherry-pick situations all day long to prove it. But honestly it isn’t all that common. The problem with randoms (exacerbated in seasons with large gear gaps) is that there are a lot of non-games. I spent yesterday going about 1-8 in randoms. It happens. It was all solo-queue and my ilvl is pretty bad at this point in the season. That being said, only 3 felt winnable. It’s usually much better than that, but outliers happen. The key is to not get so cynical about these non-games that you give up on the games that are plenty winnable if half the team didn’t give up at the first sign of defeat. Even if your team is getting creamed, you can usually find something to do with the experience that’s productive. I like finding their top dmg/kb player and just spam CC them or isolate players and skirmish.
I don’t think OPs post pertains to people that exclusively que geared premades lol. Try queuing by yourself and lets see how fast that win ratio tanks
Burn lol

It’s not a personal attack, solo queueing random bgs in this game is a miserable experience. Just not representative of what this thread is trying to convey
As someone else who also queues geared premades, you know why I won’t. I also duo queue and still win most, but my main point was this guy does nothing to help his team and his w/l shows it
I know, I just agree people who don’t pug in pvp shouldn’t even be commenting in this thread but here they are lol.
This thread pretty cringe. 1 person can carry a game. 1 person can throw a game. It gods both ways. Arguing either side is literally pointless. You can find examples of both. You could be best player and lose 10 games in row or worst and win.
Duo-queuing probably helps a player’s win rate go up 10% alone. Queuing with at least one other person seems to safeguard you from an in-progress game at least in the random queues. That aspect alone is enough to try to find at least one other person to play with.
That’s a fair point, I never thought of that but 100% I never get an in-progress game while duo queuing. It’s not why I do it though, I just want to be able to heal at least one dps who doesn’t flop over
Yeah, It was exactly the same for me. I spent the better part of 3 expansions almost exclusively queueing with at least one other person. I would see posts all the time about in-progress battlegrounds and how big of an issue they were and always thought to myself they don’t seem that bad. Then I started solo queuing one season… talk about a rude awakening.
Ohhbobsaget you do win a lot. but why? i play bgs a lot (not like you, honor level 661) but this games get crazy. do you play groups or?
why is my font so big???
We all know. Your WR will tank fast and you will look bad after talking as if you would somehow fare better.
This is correct. I was 2 and 4 yesterday, but 3 of the losses I was a back filler and came into losing games. On paper I was 2 W and 4 L, but mentally I need to tell myself that I was 2 W and 1 L for the day. It’s a real shame that they haven’t been able to find a solution for this problem yet.
Queueing with a buddy makes it so you don’t get these losses from backfilling losing games.
Interesting I started an alliance shaman not to long ago and I won my first 30 bgs, just queuing by myself. It was in the 10-19, 20-29 and 30-39 brackets since I was leveling.
The only bg I have a bad W/L ratio is AV.
In my own personal experiences with solo queueing, while leveling, Alliance dominates lower level BGs.
Of course I would fare better, way better. I’m not sure what you don’t understand about this, I’m a geared healer who actually helps my team. You’re an under geared dps who runs around complaining about faction imbalances and has little to no experience.
We’re not impressed that you solo queue because you don’t have friends - it’s a group based mmo
If you queue solo you’ll probably be matched up against one or more premades. It’s the same experience no matter which faction you play.
It may vary, for me Horde wins the vast majority of Epic Battlegrounds, and Alliance tends to win a select few of the regular battlegrounds.
So then it should be of no challenge for one such as yourself to soloQ some say…30 random bg’s and maintain your current WR.
That is of course, if you have the gall to put your money where your mouth is…
Dude I missed your comment and the only reason I went back and saw it was because the letters were massive. That’s a win.
I play everything, I play mostly in geared premades of 3-5 and duo queue, I sometimes solo queue but only when I’m really bored. I was also invited to RBGs a last month, but I don’t think that factors into my wins and barely any for my honor level.
I never said I would keep my win/loss solo queuing? Learn to read. I agree with what Desiration said I wouldn’t keep my w/l if I solo queued. What I am saying is I wouldn’t lose 90% of my games like was originally stated. I solo queued a ton in BFA and my w/l was still over 70% heading in to shadowlands because one person can make a difference.
You still don’t seem to understand that solo queuing isn’t impressive to anyone. You don’t get some badge of honor for solo queuing. You can do it if that’s what you prefer, but to say that your pathetic win rating is solely because of class imbalance and your actions don’t have any outcome on a game is why you’re sitting in the forums complaining. Get good and maybe you’ll have more fun?
