Why do we do Maintenance during normal day hours when people are awake and playing instead of overnight like 2-5 a.m. cause normal people get up at 7 a.m. or so.

“Normal.” There is no such thing. People work all hours and all shifts. This is how Blizzard has always done it and it works for them. They cannot cater to everyone or else they’d never be able to shut servers down.

Because this game is played by people from all over the world and not everyone is the same timezone as you.

Because they did research and determined this was the lowest played part of the day. WoW is an international game after all.

Because the people doing the maintenance are normal people with normal work hours starting at 6 or 7 PDT?

I play at 2:00 in the morning on the east coast. Maybe I’m not normal enough for you. Maybe they should revolve the game around your life and hours, maybe that would be, “normal” for you, perhaps?

I know this is off-topic but seeing so many people responding to this thread is much like seeing “Several people are typing…” a la Discord. (I’m one of those not ‘normals’ and have yet to sleep so I’m easily amused at this point. For those who trip over this later, there were like six people typing responses at once.)

Yes there is such a thing as normal and trust me I know… I work overnight’s and most the time I am not up during the morning but I have a young daughter and do not have much time to play so when I am “normal” it would be nice not to miss whole day’s of playing because they don’t “cater” to me as you say.

It’s not like anyone on the forums sets maintenance times.

Blizz is run by people who probably don’t want to be up at two in the morning doing hours of maintenance. Not very fair to them.

Tuesday morning isn’t that intrusive in the grand scheme. It was researched to be the best possible time in fairness to time zones and schedules. It’s not like they’re doing it on a Saturday afternoon.

Years ago, Blizzard actually said that maintenance is completed during the time it has the least impact on the most players.

Watch a movie, vote, go for a jog… the game will be here when you get back.

blizzard’s time zone is different then mine understand this I know it’s 3 hours behind me so there still doing maintenance during the day even within there time frame.

Yea i would not be surprise , also people of all age play wow , took me some time when i was younger to undersand that the world extended to outside the small town i lived in :stuck_out_tongue: hence my question !
