Maybe you should move to Australia, then the maintenance would be done by the time you wake up.
I used to work for a very large cloud services provider that had countless 24/7-available services. Our policy was to never push an update outside of office hours unless it was to bring down a service that was in a failing state. Scheduled maintenance was never to be done nights, weekends, or holidays - or even just on Fridays or late afternoons if we could avoid it. Start of business Tuesday morning was a very standard time for our maintenance, since it gave us all day Monday to get final testing and approvals on what we were going to push.

So I used to work armed security at a data center right? Night time is the perfect time to do maintenance why? Because the amount of players that are online at night, are generally less than what it is during the day. Yes, people play at night, but thats their choice to do so, so when maintenance is scheduled in the AM, they have to take that one because they know its coming, and they (Blizzard) can take as much time as needed to get the server maintenance done in a timely manner. With out the need of seeing a sea of “Another extended maintenance” by the prime time players.
The data center I used to work at, was super busy at night because there was always techs coming in and spending 5 to 6 hours in one server room. What are they doing? Swapping Drives out, defragging, general cleaning, etc. Something that can be done AT NIGHT. Not something that needs to be done in the morning going all the way into the afternoon. Its not hard for Blizzard to do it. They just choose not to.

When the USA is asleep, aka night time, Australia is awake, aka daytime. As a rough example.
Your suggestion does not take that into account.
Imagine the bleeding screaming cries from the blizz employees if they were made to work the 3rd shift to so maintenance?
It would be a sight to see.

Yes, Blizzard Employees have no Lives. Yours is more important. They should do what ever is better for you, not them.
So go give those legitimate companies your money clearly they meet your expectations in ways blizzard can’t. That’s your only option
And they choose not to because they get your subscription money anyways. If they didn’t from thousands of players then maybe they would reconsider changing their ways
