Maintenance fun question (I think), What's the most expensive thing you've ever thrown away

I’ll start. I threw away a brand new, in the box, telephone signal booster that cost $300. /cry

My parents made me throw away an original Charizard card i got in middle school because pokemon was ‘satanic’

Its been a decade and I still haven’t forgiven them

one of the last jobs I worked for someone else, I was evidently talking to a coworker, not paying attention and tossed the ink fountain for one of the presses into the trash can…about a grand at the time to replace.
Thankfully the trash hadnt been picked up yet so we found it

I gave my Holofoil 1st Edition Charizard card to a friend for free. It cost me $200 back when I got it. it is now 250k on Ebay. One of the top ten worst decisions I have ever made in my entire life. That’s probably the reason why some people become hoards knowing that a piece of paper can be worth so much.

And an Xbox first edition I gave that away too. Supposedly worth a lot now but mine had the red ring of death on it from time to time. Edit. Oh nvm. Just looked up how much that Xbox would be valued… basically worthless.

I can’t recall outside of the game-wise.

In-game? … I think some of my alts decided to trash the Linken picture you got from doing his quest chain back in the day.

Considering such tokens of the old world are hard to come by now and are worth a lot in certain eyes, I wish I’d kept every single one. XD

I threw away a $40,000 reenlistment bonus back in 2011. no regerts tho

When I worked? Things that were originally 100k+ were deemed obsolete and turned in for disposal. That involved a ton of paperwork and stuff. Tech and time change the usefulness of things.

Personally, getting me to get rid of anything is very very difficult. I still have the first stationary kit my grandmother gave me when I was 8. If something is not so broken I can’t fix it, then I probably still have it. I am the same size I was at 13/14 so clothing is also something I have a lot of. Thankfully I don’t get much stuff and I am very organized.

As a teen my retainer accidentally got thrown out and I never mentioned it since I hated using it. So I guess the cost of whatever braces were in the early 2000’s and undoing their correction over time.

Mom gave away a bc rich guitar I had in the oughts. It’s not like it’s worth a ton, 400-1000 if you can find them now it’s just it looked really cool ._.

I’ve dumped some semi expensive things over the years, but I tend to donate or give away instead of “thrown away”.

Ex: Car, camper trialer, thousands of original MGC cards, etc.

Accidentally? Can’t think of much, my parents did throw out all of my old toys that would probably be worth a small fortune now though.

Paid 300$ for a used projection tv and the blue drive tube burned out at a cost of 279$

Rolled it out to the curb and like 5 minutes later , I had a redneck in an F150 banging on my door to ask for the remote.

Time…
Once its gone… its never coming back.

When I was in my 20s, this bothered me. Now that I’m 63, not so much.

My life… on this game
