It’s a Tuesday evening for the U.S it is Wednesday morning for me as I am in NZ.
Is this an unexpected prolonged maintenance because normally I can login at this time.

And if It were Mondays, Wednesdays,… I’m sure you’d just have as many people saying the same thing. It’s just your luck that it’s a bad time for you.
But, if you were here at the beginning, 20 years ago, like I was, you’d be happy with the general quality and consistency with the maintenance and patches. I mean with both Burning Crusade, and Lich King, the game was down for hours, to days, to longer, on a regular basis. you’d get in, be fighting something and the game would crash. You couldn’t be rezzed because it’s been hours, a day, or days, and I can’t remember how well your corpses were marked…

They are aware and it’s unfortunate for you and for people in your situation but I believe any moment they would do it, it would affect someone somewhere because so many work and play WoW at different hours in different timezones, etc. 
If they could figure a way to shorten the regular maintenance to 30 minutes or a flat 1-2 hours instead of 4-6 when it’s extended, it would fix a lot of the issue, I believe. But it might not be possible otherwise I suppose they would have done it by now. 
I think the only thing that annoys me with maintenance anymore is that they break wayyyy more than they fix. It could be 2 hours or 6. The end result is always the same.

Whenever I log in and use that paladin power to summon a horse for the first time, it says I got Plunderstorm titles. LOL Like, it’s been doing that for a while but I like it so it’s all good. 
Yeah, I’ve had that happen pretty regularly. No Plunderstorm titles though. My orc warrior seems to get it especially bad. Mount up? Title spam. Dismount? More title spam.

I genuinely don’t care when maint is, I was just shocked I seem to have this whole false memory about maint changing times many years back when everyone else is like “always been this way” LOL

3 out of 4 of the clowns here bought the 90$ big shiny dino mount, blizz has enough money to essentially extend “maintenance” for as long as they please.
now its 3:00 pm PST which is 6pm for EST woohoo.

You would think much like road work, the “down time” would be in the evening hours when most folks arent online.

They keep it on Tuesday’s because I pay my subscription and told them its the only day I never take off work so they don’t waste my money. Pleased they listened.
