Tuesday works perfectly for me. Considering maintenance has been an hour or less for weeks, you will be fine
someone should bring this concern to them post haste.
20 years and people are still complaining about this…
Happy WoW Addiction Awareness Day
I don’t understand these complaints. No one would want maintenance to be randomly scheduled. Knowing it is going to be on Tuesday means we know to plan around it.
For what? 20 years now.
Well, that is unfortunate, for you.
What concern is that? That people work? Or that people have Tuesday off?
it has always been and will always be on a Tuesday! find chores, go outside, finish projects, take an extra-long hot bath XD
Why extra long? I’m like 5 foot nothing and our bathroom is small.
Hi, I’m Cacatoro, and I’m a WoWaddict. I’ve made my kids wait up to 15 minutes for lunch or dinner because I was stuck in a dungeon where people kept disconnecting during the boss fight. I’ve lied to work (again) claiming I had the flu just to play new content on release day. I’ve even spent enough on boosts, name changes, mounts, pets, and server transfers to cover my kid’s college tuition. I’m a WoWaddict, and I’m Cacatoro. Thank you for letting me continue supporting Blizzard while ensuring my time and family keep suffering. I have been playing WoW as of today, January 14, 2025, for 7,383 days now.
“Why is Blizzard doing maintenance on Tuesday it’s a big inconvenience to me!” says the OP, on the 1051st Tuesday maintenance of the game’s lifespan
Small if true.
I get being frustrated by having the only day off WoW is under maintenance but it’s especially funny how self-centered this reads lol
Maintenance has to occur on one of the days of the week, and very rarely are they several hours outside of major content updates and patches. If not you, then someone else would be screwed over on their day off.
The world doesn’t revolve around you or anyone else. Get over it lol
You are trolling right?
You gotta be trolling. 20 years it’s been this way, everyone playing more than a couple weeks figures this out.
But pretending you are serious. It’s better to have a static maintenance schedule week to week for a planning. All the stupid memes and the fools that say”all they have to do is load the patch why does it need x hours!”
I promise you there’s more to maintaining a game the size of wow than what they will ever tell us. They tell us the high end stuff “the new expansion goes live!” Or “new patch content releases today”
They won’t tell us “so our core stack of switches needs upgrades and we are replacing a few blades …”
Or any number of infrastructure or network related items.
I never understand why they dont do maintenance during the low traffic time. Do it from Midnight to 0600
I wonder if Blizzard offered a premium service for $25 a month where you could play on a server that never had more than an hour of downtime… I mean, it could be done, but the redundant backups and shadow servers would be ridiculously expensive in manpower and energy. Just a thought. But hey, I guess that would just land us in some weird PRIME service agreement scenario instead. j/k, Blizzard—it’s a bad idea. I’m good with my $15 service fee.
It’s prime play hours somewhere in the world at all times.
Back in the old days, when we had to walk everywhere until level 60, I think Blizzard did rolling server updates based on the server’s time zone—at least, I’m pretty sure they did. It’s been so long, but I remember making new characters on other servers just to play while my main server was down.
I remember that too! Those were the days. Many characters got to level 10.
Unsure if this is a troll thread or not, but it’s because it impacts the least amount of players.
Then why haven’t you?
It also coincides with Patch Tuesday from most major OS providers. The people who constantly make these threads to cry don’t know the first thing about managing even one server let alone entire datacenters.
