LOL people should expect these long maintenance periods right before we have a major patch drop. We are two weeks away from it as of today, and three weeks away from the new raid launch. These maintenance windows are going to be longer than usual as a result as they gradually setup the servers.

that’s not the problem. the problem is that estimating exactly how long a thing will take can be difficult when you haven’t done that exact thing in the exact same environment before.

Other than constantly clicking click on the play button and searching for any blue post in the forums. How does one find out that an extended is needed?
I don’t Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Twitch or Twitter. Ie, I don’t social media at all.

twitter/X is the best place for updates if you’re not looking at the launcher or the forums.
That requires an account and personally I refuse to waste anything on Twitter. Everything about the game should be posted in forms so everyone can see it.

Any good company would use their own sites to update people on things, not something like Twitter. Then again I did say good company. Like the one that owns FFXIV.

Weird how so many people pay a monthly sub to congregate here and hate on WoW 7 days a week and then lose their minds when they can’t log into the game for a few hours on a Tuesday.

Adding code to a game this big isn’t easy. You could add code to a butterfly flapping in Darkshore and it may cause some level 14 horde hunter to become invincible and do 10 million dmg per hit.
I think Blizz does a great job providing us all with entertainment. I can live with the downtime.
