I had the same issue, rolled back to driver 457 from November and fixed the issue. I have a 1080TI if that helps.
I just tried the new Nvidia Drivers that were update today…the flickering is still there…I have a Geoforce 1660 Super 6 gig card…I am having to roll back to older drivers the flickering drives my eyes nuts.
New drivers didn’t help me still got the flickering…have to roll back.
1080ti here, latest drivers, flickering is abundant and annoying. Turning down shadows helped for a bit, turning on tripple buffering helped for a short time then didn’t.
Switching to DX11 seems to have fixed it for the time being.
Checking back with an update:
Switching to DX 11 seems to stop the flickering.
There is also flickering on the latest 460.89 driver DX 11 fixes this too.
I am not noticing this, though I haven’t been able to play much today due to internet issues. I know I have seen glow turned off in my settings via Leatrix Plus. I’ll have to check and see if I am having any issues as well when I am back with a stable connection.
Going to do what folks suggested and try going back to 11, rather have things look ugly than quitting every loading screen.
EDIT: Don’t want to jinx it but the newest update actually isn’t flashing on my end even before I downgraded to 11. I’ll stick with 12 and keep an eye out!
EDIT 2: The flickering moved to my battle pet/mount/appearance menu, It’s super intense and hurts my eyes a little but better than it happening in the game world… so I’d say a minor improvement?
I have been experiencing this issue as well with the texture flickering on a GTX1080. The newest driver from Nvidia did not fix the issue. The work around of going to DX11 or lowering the shadow quality to low seems to make the flickering stop. Seems like Nvidia needs to be brought into this and a fixed driver needs to be delivered.
I have a gtx 1070 and ever since the I installed the last driver, the flickering has appeared. It is mainly noticeable in Ardenweald, with the trees and certain NPC characters flickering quite heavily. I also notice that depending on where you move the camera, the flickering will either worsen or disappear too.
I have 1050ti and it updated to 460.89 yesterday morning. I haven’t noticed any flickering anymore. Not sure why it went away for me and no one else.
GTX 1060
Driver 460.89, updated this morning.
Still flickering. I noticed it in the transmog window on all of the gear icons, as well as the trees in Ardenweald.
Ray tracing shadows were off, but swapping to DX11 made it stop.
Updated to this new driver last night. Just rolled it back about ten minutes ago. Green is the trigger color for me, if it was green it flickered. Bad. No Ray Tracking, my graphics card does not support it.
Windows 10
DX12
NVIDIA GTX 1050
The 460.89 drivers do the exact same thing.
Now cannot roll back to the ones that were working, defaults to the xxx.79
Flickering from most “tree sources”. Refer to last post in my laptop video card.
I am using the drivers released on Dec 15, have the same issue, Version 460.89 I have a 3080 and a 2070 and both have the issue but turning on Ray Tracing Shadows seems to have stopped it from flickering. But it is an intermittent issue so it may be tabbing out. I run Wow in borderless window full screen.
Solutions are:
Shadows on low - looks terrible
Turn on ray tracing = fps cut in half
SWITCH TO DIRECTX11 - no downsides
at some point a new driver updates might fix it
As an aside, restarting the game fixes all the flashing and flickering, but only until you zone through something, like you covenant sanctum or another zone. Then it all returns twice as bad.
I know you guys are working hard to sort this but today’s update is the flickering is back with vengeance and direct 11 gives me more of a headache with just how wildly my frames fluctuate: 170, 70, 140, 100, 60, 150 all in just a few min… it’s really harsh.
How many of you are overclocking your GPU? I had the flickering as well, and after reducing my core clock a bit it went away. I’ve been flicker free for a bit now, so just thought I’d share. I’m on a 3090 and using the 460.79 drivers.
No overclocking here at all…might get the new drivers again and try Direct 11x see if that fixes it or not.
Guys get the new patch for NVIDEA, the Cyberpunk one was bad and they release a update today.
