[Main Thread] Download Stuck on 0% initializing then BLZBNTAG0000138F

OK, nothing so far that’s been suggested here on this thread is working. Now I’m trying to just do a scan & repair and now THAT’s stuck at 0%. What is going on here? What am I doing wrong?

Tried to email the above and received a reply back saying my file was “too large.” So frustrated!

Updating to Sonoma fixed my issue.

I had a 38 GIG patch to download from Bnet after. Not sure why.

I did the same thing, updated to Sonoma, but that hasn’t resolved my issue unfortunately.

Just so you know the Firewall is now under the Network section of System Settings. A change that was made in Apple computers.

Yeah - no good here on my Mac either. The firewall settings in Sonoma are different and do not include any application specific settings. There is an App Management setting under Privacy & Security → App Management that shows the “Agent” app as allowed to update or delete other applications. But resetting it has had no effect. Also - no problem on three other PCs in the house; just the Mac.

I too am receiving this error. Why hasnt blizzard pushed out a hotfix to address this yet? Its getting annoying.

Having same issue. Won’t update, and won’t Scan and Repair either. I’m playing by starting directly from the game app, which is functioning without any issues atm (can’t be sure it won’t want an “update” in the future, but rn it doesn’t seem to need one).

I had a whole fuss with this on Tuesday, then got it working and downloading just fine, played Tuesday night and yesterday, and now we’re back to this. I tried all the suggestions here (also on a silicon Mac - seconding what other people have said about Firewall settings moving in Sonoma, they’re under Network now) and still nothing, except now the Battle.net app will crash and give me error BLZBNTBNA00000006 after going back and forth between waiting and initializing. I also got it to load directly from the WoW app instead of via Battle.net, at least for now.

I tried adding the agent(s) to firewall, but no improvement. So set my firewall back to where it was and opened up my Activity Monitor. Lurking in there was an Agent still running even after a computer restart. I force quit the Agent and everything started updating as normal.

So everything is working…Blizzard releases a hot fix…and now there are issues…and according to the thread Blizzard’s response is to have everyone change “their” settings that were working just fine before the hot fix??? Stop copying and pasting the same lame response in every thread. It is obviously not working…put a post out there that “YOU” are working on a solution to the problem “YOU” created!!!

I turned on Firewall and did as Skelgarer suggested but still stuck at initializing.
I decided to by-pass Launcher and start from WoW app - I AM IN!

Can I do this without installing the game from Battle.net app?

It seems not Mac-specific. Same issue for me on Win 10, and it looks like quite a few others too.

Perhaps resolved? I played for a while by starting WoW app. When I quit for night, I saw that Launcher must have finally downloaded and updated what every it needed. Not stuck at “initializing”.

These directions are absolutely terrible. 1 your first link is broken. 2 it’s not even for the modern operating system.

What a poop show.

Everything worked fine yesterday and now I can load into the title screen and then the game crashes.

Also on Mac

1 mac on sonoma started working after enabling/disabling firewall then rebooting but the other on sonoma has the same issue still.

There are bugs with the firewall in sonoma which you may have noticed so not sure if that’s the root cause. Hilarious that it causes the agent to consume an entire core though!
Someone at the bnet team needs to and an “if socketCreatedSuccessfully” check to bail out gracefully.

Hi Skelgarer, nearly 20 years in of generally great performance, but this reply is unacceptable. I can log in on the game proper, but your Battle.net has a Mac app issue that you need to solve please. Please update us when your issue is solved and Battle.net can download the update for Mac! Thank you!
