[Main Thread] DCs in Stormwind / Elwynn Forest (and other starting zones) on Chigaco Datacenter Servers

Its happened to me as well:

  • Stormrage server
  • Zone: Human starting area in Elwin Forest (character is level 3 Night Elf)
  • Multiple disconnects happened 1-5 minutes after playing
  • Each disconnect sends my character back in time to before I logged her in causing lost quest progress, and anything I did with her (such as moving spells from spell book to action bar) was all reverted back.

This has occurred several times

NOTE: I was able to move my character into Elwiynn Forest proper (outside the newbie area) and she dose NOT disconnect.

Haven’t DCd since 20 minutes past the hour (09:20 a.m. PST); it’s now 11 minutes later.

Hopefully things are clearing up.

20 minutes since the last DC, system chat messages:

“You have been disconnected from Blizzard services.”
“You are now connected to Blizzard services.”

sudden influx of Battle.net friends coming online

Seems like a reconnect to the auth server?

Not that I want to jynx it, but we’ve gone 28 minutes without a DC (on my end at least), and one apparent live reconnection to the auth server.

Hey everyone,

Just an update that an adjustment was made that hopefully will help with those disconnections. Still monitoring this thread to see if any more reports come in but hopefully it’s more stable now. Thanks everyone for the patience and reports again.

I keep getting booted still. Doomhammer/Baelgun. And im not in a starting zone. I got kicked from comp stomp, then from Emerald Dream.

There’s a small update available. Can you try exiting the game, restarting the Battle.net Launcher, and see if it’s availble for you? Maybe that’ll help too.

I did, i reset router, i danced naked in my living room, nothing worked. And when i can log in i have world latency of 21000 ms+
I can play other games fine.

This is happening to me too. I even tried repairing the game, and the disconnects are still happening, but now have the added latency issues when logged in for 5ish minutes.
My character was just forever frozen due to the high latency going on in-game, that I had to alt-F4.

I’m on Stormrage, and was in Elwynn Forest.

I had major DC today in and around Stormwind. I left for the emerald dream and no longer had any issues. I am on Tanaris

I noticed there was an update awhile ago so maybe it was a hotfix?

to add on after the update about 3 hours ago it was fine for me till just now i am once again getting disconnected followed up by a new issue message saying charc name already exists tried logging into different charc diff servers restarting game pc still getting the same issue when trying to log into the charc in question pls fix :slight_smile:

The original issue this thread was created for has been solved. There were world server crashes due to a hotfix issue and that has all been cleared up.
