Your request is well put, but I fear there may be a slight misunderstanding going on here. Compensation for any kind of large-scale issue is never handled by Gamemasters, but rather by the actual developers of the game themselves. This is to ensure all affected players receive the same benefits, not just those who happened to contact us - if and when any such is awarded, there’d not be a need to take any action from your end to gain said benefits.
You will want to keep an eye on our forums, for potential updates on this - any related announcement would almost certainly be featured there first!
So my question now is, who do I need to contact for compensation, if not the Support Team of the game that I am attempting to recieve compensation from? What forums do I need to ‘keep an eye on’? Who is actually handling the logistics of the aftermath for this issue?
No one, because apparently Blizzard does not care
been trying to chase this down myself and no one cares that much so they just leave it unanswered. you know lets do whats bets for the shareholders.
So talking to in-game CS say go to the forum and talk in the thread, and Devs will answer the issue with compensation.
So just to prove the game masters no one cares when it comes to compensation. Thats why. Hope this is a legit reason enough.
This seems to happen each time there is an update. I have opened tickets. Last time, I was told to download and open Wrath classic and then switch to wow as a workaround. I just want to play. I have played this game from year 1. You keep taking my money. I am tired of not being able to play when I want. FIX THIS. Once again today the launcher just bounces and I get an application not responding message. This is a constant pain. Blizzard, you know about it. People here post about it. I want you to fix it. NOT with a workaround, with a good permanent fix. Please.
This thread is not for bounce issue. it’s for a hard crash (with error) issue that’s long fixed. Please stop bouncing it for unrelated issues, there already exists another thread for bouncing. Considering time stamps all align between users again i’m gonna guess blizzard had a server issue with auth server again and when blizzard can’t be reached the app hangs/beachballs at launch.
I would like to note publicly that I have been manually gifted game time in response to my downtime, as I suggested a while ago. I don’t know about everyone else but I can say the support team is listening and doing their best!
Yup, I just noticed this too and got my 7 days. Thanks!
I saw a little gift icon in the Battle.Net app, with an orange dot. That’s how I found it. Honestly, it was dumb luck I stumbled upon it. But if you’re looking for it, that’s where it showed up. I don’t think I got an email or anything.
Just wanted to update you all on this too. I’m a little late, but i received 7 days of game time as well. It was a nice surprise to open up Battle.net and see that. I was honestly not expecting any compensation at all.
10.0.7 is working fine too.
Here is the Technical Specialist Reply for this issue (FYI: option 1 worked for me. Adding classic to my launcher and opening it. Allowed me to open vanilla.)
Technical Specialist Rinadar here to assist you today!
I undertand that WOW is refusing to start. I have heard of this going on and do have some information to share.
Thanks for including the system information files with this, as they can have clues to help explain what’s going on.
What we’ve seen is reports of Macs with version 13 of MacOS can’t launch retail World of Warcraft. The developers are aware and are looking into causes and fixes for this. This system does have version 13.0.1 which does match others in the reports.
There are still a couple ideas that can help with this.
The first idea is a workaround we’ve seen help. That is to launch a different version of World of Warcraft such as Wrath of the Lich King Classic. After the game starts, you can quit it and then launch Retail World of Warcraft without a problem.
Let’s see if creating and switching to a new Administrator Account helps. This sets many settings to defaults and also helps with permission problems, so can be useful to do even if you’re using an admin account already: https://battle.net/support/article/34550
Thanks for your time to reach out. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with and take care out there friend.
this thread should honestly be locked. if there is a new issue it needs a new thread. these crashes were fixed months ago and even users affected by them granted 1 week of game time. it’s misleading for troubleshooting stand point to use this thread because it had a totally different cause and solution.
I wills ay that being on 13.0.1 is VERY problematic. that version was SUPER buggy and we’re at 13.3 now. Update it.
