2010 Mac Pro here, mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 AMD 7970 3GB video card now working.
Clicked more than once at the settings > Check for updates until it was available.
Took me from version 10.0.5.47849 to same number ending with 71 and it works.
Hope this helps someone.

Editing here, not allowed to post more than 3 times on the same topic. newb user dumb rule.
Do you have any ideas why they didnât anticipate these issues with macOS? They didnât do any tests?
As it happens, I had just now done a system reboot to test exactly this sort of thing before seeing this post. Same behavior before/after reboot; crashes 10 seconds after showing connecting screen.
Make/Model of the system: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
Processor: 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
GPU: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB
OS Version: macOS Big Sur Version 11.7.3
I talked about that earlier but the gist was, it wasnât made by anyone that works on macOS side, so they probably donât understand how bad apple is on updating old drivers. Itâs easy for a windows dev to take for granted that if windows 11 gets an update, so does windows 10 and 7. Apple on other hand abandon their OSes as fast as they come out, period. Not even serious bug fixes get back ported. Apple could fix a major crash in macOS 13 and they wonât touch macOS 11 or 12 at all.
So I suspect someone made a change, saw it worked with all windows versions and just didnât test it on macOS (or if they did only the latest). Is it excusable, no. but understandable given the crunch/rushing that goes on under activision these days and fact mac support team is effectively one person and only in their free time, then yeah it happens and the fault is with activision blizzard king (ABK) and not the devs.
You havenât been told anything either way.
No reason to even explore that until the problem is resolved.
We have no idea what, if anything, will happen once they get this all cleaned up.
Thank you. âmac support team is effectively one person and only in their free timeâ, this is so sad.
Restarted and crashes as before.

Thanks grey, that test was helpful and Iâll forward that report.
I didnât get a cinematic at all but was able to log in finally. Still have unsubbed, will chase 4 days credited to my account, will not renew sub until after that conversation.

Donât bother, one reboot wiped shader cache, more reboots wonât do anything different. It was a long shot but worth a try
Greyspike, try moving back to macOS !0.15 catalina if possible, that would work.
According to the developer Rommax, all 10.14 and 10.15 work, intel GPUâs only with Big Sur. Worth a shot if you can/donât mind move back to catalina
Crashing here very dramatically with a red screen and two Blizzard error messages on a:
iMac Retina 5K, 27", late 2014
4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Corei7
32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Big Sur 11.7.1
I have almost the exact same build/specs as Greyspike, but the 2.8 GHz processor, and the same thing is happening to me- plays the Intro cinematic, then says connecting, then crashes.
Thanks for your assistance!
This is the last Mac desktop I will ever have. Itâs been problematic ever since I got it in 2019-- 32Gig ram, 4.2 ghz quad core i7, still completely unable to function well with Dragonflight even before this major crash. At this point Iâm wondering if Iâll even be able to return to gameplay, missed a week or two and come back to this bug thatâs been going on for a few days now for Mac users. Disappointing.
I donât need a $3-4 refund for not being able to play for a week, but please extend Legion Timewalking by another week. I was REALLY looking forward to tanking and healing some Legion TW dungeons this week.
Okay. Update rolled through for me after sitting idle for 30 mins and Iâm in. Best of luck everyone
