[Main Thread] Crashes on launch after maintenance Jan 24th

Wait…so if it’s fixed next week, we’re just supposed to not get two weeks worth of vault items? Great feeling, hearing that no compensation will be awarded to those that just had to sit this out…especially at such an important part of the season when everyone is grabbing tier pieces left and right. This feels really, really awful…

MacBook Pro from 2014, running Big Sur 11.7.3 (most recent version of it and the highest OS this machine can run). Intel for graphics and processor. Things worked fine up until latest patch. Have not had a chance to see if errors are occurring on my desktop PC.

This is getting ridiculous. It’s been four days. I just don’t understand how such a colossal flaw could happen and make it through unseen during patch testing from devs… Huge, inexcusable mistake from Blizzard.

We may be a minority, but we’re a sizable one, and while an apology is nice, it sucks to miss out on time gated content like vault rewards, time walking, and the lunar holiday. Hoping for good news, and for Microsoft to take over in the near future so they can actually put some resources and effort back into testing and customer/tech support.

Man, that’s cold. Do we think this will apply to players who had earned the right to access the vault but will now not be able to get in to claim rewards? Very frustrating. Useless company…

Guys where’s the hopium… who cares about our vaults… the dev said they are working on it :rofl: see it it’s even fixed tuesday. i love this happening nearly every major patch.

Lets all just take a deep breath and thank Rommax for communicating. Thank you Rommax. On behalf of myself and all 6 of my alts… we appreciate you and the work you are doing. I’m sorry for being so crass. This is the only escape I have from my long cold days in the depths of the tundra in MN.

Nobody is arguing that they aren’t doing their job and trying but like come onnnn it’s not our fault either and we’re about to loose over a week of game time from our membership we paid for … on a game we paid for……

We’re optimistic we’ll be able to deploy a fix this this evening, assuming we don’t run into any unforeseen deployment issues

Appreciate the optimism. I think we’ve had 3-4 updates already that did not work but fingers crossed.

that is welcome news, however the damage has been done with time gated content, and the lack of restitution is inexcusable.

I have paused my sub, and whether I resume is partially dependent on how this is addressed. Blizz can lose a fraction of $15 in compensation and restore my trust with a good faith gesture, or they can lose out on however many months it takes for the dev team to fix ret paladins while a loss of revenue penalizes them for ignoring major issues all round.

Might be the wrong forum to communicate this but Blizz has set up a whole shooting gallery of messengers to kill between my complaints and the people who actually screwed up that need to hear this, so withholding revenue from the whole company is the only tool I have left to communicate with. It is what it is.

I don’t mind losing a few days of gameplay as long as I get to spam RBGs like a heathen before reset so I can get my vault items from this week and last. I would love for the fix to come in this evening, I will go to bed early and wake at 3am to play like the degenerate I am :slight_smile:

and this isn’t the first time — the last time this happened to me about 2 months ago and I had to wait over a week for it to “Magically” fix itself

Any compensation for the lost game time? Lost four days worth of time where I could have been grinding old reps, doing wq, leveling alts, doing the lunar event and farming timewalking. Time is money, literally

I hope those who are responsible for testing something as simple as “does it work with the minimum OS requirements we already posted for the expansion?” have been given a stern talk to.

Thank you so much for stepping in and keeping us in the loop, Rommax. That’s what a lot of us have been begging for since Tuesday. A lot of us understand that this kind of breakage can be very complicated to root cause and fix and would take some time, it really helps us just to know that we’re still being heard and kept in the loop as any kind of progress is made on the issue (even if it’s just, “we’ve tried some things and haven’t found the right fix yet”).

I hope the deployment can go through this evening with no other problems! Please please give us an update if the deployment goes sideways just so that we can know how to plan our time for the rest of the night/weekend. There has been a lot of anger and venting in this thread ultimately because we love this game that you guys keep making for us. We do appreciate all your guys’ hard work and you, specifically, for taking the time to tell us that we are still indeed being heard and considered on this issue.

Hopin’ Mac users do get some sort of compensation for this cuz 4 days outage like this absolutely sucks all around. Would be nice to see something done for this for folks. Especially with the events going on this week.
