[Main Thread] Crashes on launch after maintenance Jan 24th

Same issue with me. My screens acts like it’s about to start the game and then that darng white box pops with error and if would like to send to Blizzard.

I don’t want to lose my mail. Please help us Blizz. It is not fair.

Blizzard should just change the error message that pops up to “HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!1!1!!1!1!1!!!”

Will we get our mail reimbursed back if we lose it due to this issue? I have mail that I don’t want to lose.

I have an iMac and a 16"MacBook Pro with different OS versions. I have upgraded the OS on the iMac as well as removing and reinstalling from scratch everything from Blizzard. This is a Blizzard problem. I would think stability would be a concern when deploying patches.

OS Version: Macos Ventura

Upgraded from catalina to monterey. Didn’t work. Installed Ventura, didnt work. reinstalled WoW… Didn’t work.

Yep definitely Blizz issue. I have the same problem and have tried all areas of troubleshooting per their recommendations and still can’t logon since Tuesday.

You get a -200/10 for disrespecting the sacred Vulpera.

Make sure you put that in a ticket. I submitted my system specs in a file per their request.

At home I have a ridiculously expensive Mac Pro with a 12 core processor and 64 GB ram, with a 6 GB graphics card. Wow won’t launch. At work I have an old Dell workstation with an i5 processor, 8 GB ram, with a built-in dell graphics card, running Windows 10 Pro - Wow works fine. Go figure.

Anyone have Metal 2 that works or Metal 3 that doesn’t work?

Based on what Omegal has said and reading other reports, I think you’re on the right track here.

I have a Metal 3 compatible system, but am running Big Sur. I plan to upgrade the OS and report back.

Metal: Supported, feature set macOS GPUFamily1 v4

used my iphone 6+ until last year.

Metal 2 here, Big Sur. Does not work.

My laptop which had this issue on Big Sur, but started working when I updated to Monterey, does seem to be working using metal 2. There still might be something to the correlation between metal 3 compatible OS versions/GPUs and functional games, but it’s not quote as simple as 3 works 2 doesn’t.

Here’s the latest update on the older macOS crashing bug, this post is from Rommax one of our WoW developers.

The WoW devs are planning to push out the hotfix client as soon as possible, but we don’t have an ETA on when that will happen. It is possible it will be sometime next week.

Once that bug fix is pushed out you should be able to play again without crashing.

Currently we do not have any plans to provide compensation or refunds for this issue, but if that changes we will be sure to let the WoW community know.
