I know we have achievements and loremaster and zone quest. But what if they added a new feature that would be meant for as a new character it takes you on a journey through all the xpacs and is just a Main Story Quest Line.
Give me an option to do that as an old player, too, and I’d be down for that.
They kinda do!
I just followed the quest pop that appeared on the map next (usually it comes up as an yellow exclamation).
Coming from FF14 WoW certainly doesn’t feel as linear or guided, but I think that’s a strength rather than a weakness.
When I was a new player, now about 4 months ago, we could only do Battle for Azeroth to start with.
Ff14 has been pretty great with its story line. However, i didnt know about the story and how the systems are gated to the main quest line lol. I was running through sidequest non-stop then found my self doing level 15 quest as a level 25.
WoW allows sidequest which I quite enjoy doing since you level faster and such.
Agreed! Something I’ve recently discovered is that even the WoW story usually has one to two side ‘chapters’.
(I think it’s reasonable to not consider BFA a spoiler for most people but here’s your warning to stop reading now if you’re brand new)
Aside from the main Quest in Tiragarde sound where you ultimately confront Lady Ashvane, you could do the Norwington Estate and the Anglepoint ones could be done at any time.
In retrospect this is much cooler than I originally gave it credit for because I’m pretty sure ‘The Shadow over Anglepoint’ is a pre-cursor to Stormsong Valley anyhow.
as long as they don’t throw a stupid cutscene of my character nodding meaningfully at me every 5 minutes, I have no objections
Yea I’ve always wanted some kind of feature that keeps track of quests and the overall storyline. WoW has so many different quests spread out all over the place, so it’s pretty easy to lose track of which one story you’re following. I know Shadowlands has this for the main campaign, but it’d be nice to see that applied across the entire game and all of its expansions.
