Hello
Since 9.1 I have been experiencing a strange issue surrounding only my main character, the only max level character I own.
Some details:
Night elf Priest, Night Fae covenant , maxed out on renown at the end of 9.0. Because I don’t own any other max levels, I do not know what other characters could suffer from this, all my other characters are level 51 or less, but none experience this issue. Additionally, it probably has nothing to do with being a night elf since I definitely have other night elves.
Here is my conversation with some GMs after trying out everything I could think of including uninstalling/ reinstalling and removing all files/folders.
The GM specialist even logged onto my character and noted the difference in FPS between their own character and my character as stated below. I just wanted to bring attention to the issue.
As suggested by both GM’s, I tried to deal with the issue by changing from DirectX12 to 11, not that I thought it would make any difference since only 1 character was affected, but it was worth a shot. It did not work.
I do appreciate the Specialist logging onto my character to verify my suspicion, it at least rules out problems with my setup.

After reinstalling wow, deleting all remaining folders, reinstalling, and starting the game with 0 mods and default settings, I found that my max level character Alathea-Elune, is suffering from very low FPS. This only applies to that one character and no other, even standing in the same spots. Screenshots provided are in Oribos.
The only difference between the characters are that one is level 51 hunter, and my main is a max level priest. I have no other max level characters, so i couldnt test out if another one would have a similar issue.

Ixzal
Howdy,
Game Master Ixzal here and we have received similar reports about FPS issues after the recent patch, so we are investigating these issues.
In the mean time, you can try using DirectX11 temporarily which should provide better performance:
Best wishes!

I tried your suggestion, but the same case still remains. Only my main character is affected, all others are perfectly fine.
I just think it is peculiar that only my max-level character is affected at all. If it was a directX issue, I don’t see how it would affect only one character out of 10+. Again it affects 1 specific character, my main, and it is the only one I have at max level.
If there are any other suggestions I would try them. Otherwise, I just have to hope that upon fixing the issues on your end, mine will be fixed as well.
Zeadom
Howdy ,
I’m Technical Specialist Zeadom! I was able to also verify this on logging into your character Alathea then logging into my own character about a 60FPS difference. I attempted to clear any hidden buffs on the character and test it with no gear made no difference.
You could see if toggling DirectX API helps at all, by pressing “Esc” → System → Advanced → Graphics API start with DirectX 12. If this doesn’t work swap to DirectX 11 Apply and Okay. Make sure to restart the client for this change to kick in.
If the issue continues from here. It is likely related to an asset not working properly that is only found on this character model. I certainly would recommend to bug report this issue for our QA and Developers to review. You can do this in game by pressing “Esc” → Support → Submit feedback or Bug Report → Bug Report. You can also post on our bug Report forums here: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/c/support/bug-report/17
I also have informed my team. We will continue to keep an eye out for other reports to see if we can locate the source. If we do we will let our QA and Developers know as well.
Thank you for working with us on this strange issue. It is very likely not your character by itself but a class, race or asset it utilizes that is causing a problem. Again we will keep our eye open in support for other reports and once found also help get that data up.
You have a great week and enjoy the action.
