There’s a non functional tauren mailbox you can get from High mountain quartermaster.
I do wish there was a functional one in town at least.

Not sure if you can get these from an npc or if they are crafted, but there are a few on the auction house. Wolvar Postbag, Stampwhistle’s Postal Portal and Gilnean Postbox.

My house is near a road. So a mailbox and lamp post (once theyre fixed) will look good

Either a mailbox in the center of town, personal ones in front of our homes, or add a mount you can make into a duplicate which turns into a functional NPC feature, like they have in Lord of the Rings Online. 
They do! Buy mine on the AH. Its Gilnean Post Box and looks more like a traditional box than the Tauren one.

What profession makes the gilnean mailbox?
I think they’re crafted in the neighborhood at the work bench. Can’t guess which profession would be needed, possibly none. Haven’t gotten that far into it yet.
I know it isnt LW. Beyond the obvious, I only had 2 LW patterns on the trainer in Dorn. Not sure if I have to go to others. But that was a pillow and a couch
“engagement”… sigh… guess I will now have to march every alt to every profession trainer in all of WoW to find out…
this is why I love having the bird on the post, Katie stamp whistle, and my engineering mailbox. it would be cute if they put one out by the purchasing post, but I don’t see that happening at least not in this expansion.
Blizzard is paranoid about housing becoming garrison 2.0 with everyone sitting in their homes and never going to the hubs, and have been vocal about not adding actual utility decorations.
However they are also hypocrites as they have no problem selling mounts that can be used in the housing area for AH, mail, and bank access - so if you are willing to pay more, you can have utility at your home (and yes for some races / professions and or with some in-game toys, one can get some of this access - just with long CDs).

Sorry. Nope. Lamp posts are interior only. Which is dumb. I mean do you have a lamp post in your real home? No. Because they go outside - obviously.

I’d love if my mailbox was a massive brontosaur I can place right on top of my address pole.
People have said the lights were causing issues, so they removed their outside status until they fix them. I can wait on those. Waiting on my BE exterior, so I can wait
