I had used the mail recovery tool and attempted to recover quite a few expired AH items(pets, gold, other various items). I checked the box on all the expired mail and submitted it for recovery but they were never sent to my mailbox. This was about a month ago. I put in a ticket immediately and got a generic response telling me to use the mail recovery tool I had just used. I waited for the 15 day refresh timer to expire to be able to mail recovery again, only to find none of the mail available for recovery.
Same thing here. recovered 209 expired not one showed up. locked out for 2 weeks so the system clearly thinks it restored them. no way to send in a ticket.
This just happened to me?
I opened a ticket, let’s see what they say.
I too have had issues with the mail recovery tool. I always have to fight with a GM to get them to restore my mail. I avoid using the tool at all cost because it is such a headache and the bug has been happening for years. Doesn’t feel like a high priority for them to fix
It’s been 23 days, and I decided to open a new ticket about it since my previous one was archived. Even though I explained what the issue was in my ticket, the GM responded with a very vague paragraph on how the “Mail Restoration” feature works.
Hi XXXX,
Thank you for reaching out to Blizzard, Game Master XXXX here and I will be checking your request today.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to assist with restoring deleted items, especially in WoW Classic. Our policy strictly prohibits any form of intervention, even if the deletion was accidental or due to a bug. We recommend taking extra care when managing your inventory to avoid such situations in the future. If you find yourself missing loot, we suggest trying the following steps:
For Modern WoW:
Log out and log back in.
Check your in-game mailbox, as the Postmaster system may have sent loot there from certain activities like instances, world bosses, or one-time treasure chests.
Please note that the Postmaster will not send quest items, bind-on-equip items, items left on corpses outside, profession items lost due to inventory space issues, or currencies. For WoW Classic and Wrath Classic:
Unfortunately, unlooted items in WoW Classic are not sent to your mailbox. They will remain on the corpse until it despawns. Resetting an instance will cause corpses to despawn, resulting in the loss of any unlooted items. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding of our policy limitations. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

GM,
XXXX
I re-opened the ticket with the archived ticket number, and I’ll see what they say. I’m genuinely annoyed, because I feel like I always get an automated response the first time a GM reviews my tickets.
Please note that I’ve never even mentioned WoW Classic or WotLK in my original ticket.
why is that relevant?
the templates cover all versions of the game.
It feels relevant 'cause it shows they don’t actually read the whole ticket before sending a reply.
