I thought there was gonna be a way to delete the character even if there was mail or is it transfer only?

Can’t delete my dead character due to having mail. Can’t open the mailbox while dead.
Per Kaivax’s post on 6/29, there was supposed to be a fix for this in a “future build of the PTR”, but it looks like that never happened.
