I went to look at the AH yesterday after raid. Wanted to see what my 235 base item would cost…
I would have to spend 260k just to get the mail boots. What is this??? Don’t make me burn over 2 wow tokens worth of gold on a freaking item when the most expensive cloth piece is 40k.

Go farm the mats and have someone craft it for you. Tip them 10-15k for their time ezpz

Man I remember selling the crafted Legiondaries for 150k a pop. Sold one every week and bought me a spider mount with the proceeds. Those were the days.

ele has been steadily rising in the rankings and its scaring me. I dont want to get a nerf for being “OP”
7-10th is such a good place to be imo
Are you pushing Mythic raiding or past +15s for M+? Otherwise you can wait to get the rank 4 until either the prices come down or you can get the mats to give to someone with the recipe. That’d be my recommendation, coming from a Heroic raider still holding onto three Rank 1s.

Seems like a lot for just a couple of stat points.
I’m waiting till the rest of my gear fully out I’lvls my legendaries before I upgrade. Also I don’t enjoy torghast so my ash income is very, very slow anyway lol.

I just dont like that the only barrier for blizz’s new player power item is a heap of gold. Aff warlocks are top dps and they get a cheap max ilvl leggo. Seems fair and healthy for class balance.

As one, I can tell it isn’t that hard to make rank 4. The most annoying thing, the only annoying thing really, is the callous hide, and to enchant it. Without an alt or friendly guildy, those goblins ask for 3k a piece of enchanted heavy callous hide, which is just absurd.
A couple days ago, I had 23 heavy callouses enchanted by a guild member for free and bought the reagents / gathered for my rank 3 leg, and payed 10k for the missing 4 encha and craft cost.
While in AH rank 3 helm is over 100k gold, really insane.
Don’t get me wrong, leather is in the same spot. It’s because of how they decided to do the “rare” material for each armor type.
The reason I only have a Rank 1 is because the Rank 4 helmet on my server has been 200k for a while. It has been steadily dipping, however. I agree the difference in effort and price for leather/Mail vs. cloth in particular is bad, but I don’t see it changing. They started it bad, they’ll probably keep it bad.
This could be the motto for every expansion so far.
I wouldn’t go as far as expansion, but systems for sure. Heart of Azeroth being a great example, that system was disgusting and never got better.

I mean, there are also hyper spawns for beasts: Bastion has many spots where you can skin the heck out of beasts non stop. Already reported boomkins there farming bots.
Cloth? farming humanoids? most are casters if there are any, which is annoying. beasts are basically all melee, good to skin in a spot. The only real thing with leather/mail is the callous hide. that’s it, the bones, desolate leather are in over abundance
Damn, on what server are the 235 leather items that expensive? I was checking prices just last night in preparation for my legendary this week and the 235 leather helm was only 67k with the price steadily dropping. It was 88k this time last week and 124k a few days before that. It boggles the mind that it’s still 200k somewhere.
My legendary is getting as upgraded as it currently is. I’m not wasting that much gold on something as useless as gear. I could buy a mount with that.
Yeah, it’s the Heavy Callous Hides. My Hunter is drowning in Desolate Leather, but the Callous Hides compared to the Lightless Silk acquisition is absolutely insane. It should have been less Hides per piece compared to the silk, or more silk per every Enchanted Lightless Silk. Something needed to be different.
