The mail icon in character selection screen is inconsistent; sometimes it doesn’t show mail (in this case, I sent mail from another character just before logging; the icon didn’t show.)
Note that this bug has been present for some time.
It’s only showing mail on characters who are on the same realm as you’re currently logged into.
I had sent mail to a character on Earthen Ring and Icecrown.
It wasn’t until I switched to those realms (either manually or logging in) that I could see the respective mail icons.
Really hope this is a bug as I was REALLY excited to be able to see when any character had mail at a glance since they’re all lumped into one list now, and will be pretty disappointed if it’s intended to still require switching realms as before.
All my characters are on the same realm.
