It’s official in my mind. Either blizz hates mail wearers or the design team for mail wearers just absolutely stinks and needs to be replaced. There isn’t a single decent mail transmog gear availble both in retail and in MOP remix. This is SO sad. Please get a new design team for the hunter class and/or other mail wearers. Yuck!
the ONLY decent set is the shaman wolf set dragonflght season 3.
There is… one. Just one. 3 colours for it though.
It’s the shaman set, Regalia of the Firebird. You can now get every colour for other classes, and you can get every colour, WITHOUT A DRESS.
To me this is fantastic.
However the OP is right and I’m sick of the mail sets in this game. They’re all very, very, very ugly.
Shaman main here, I have some pretty good mail sets in retail, I’m satisfied
Mainly for MOP to be honest though. I’m just looking at all the sets

Shaman sets have always been outliers. They’re not designed with the same theme as the rest of the mail. They’ve always been more or less decent. Whenever I can, and I can get them without having to wear a dress, I wear shaman lookalike sets.
agreed, that shaman shoulder set is sick. as far as hunters…it’s attrociuos. just looking at the MOP vendors makes me sick how evident it is.
I actually think all the hunter DF sets are perfectly fine.
The upcoming TWW Hunter set is back to asymmetrical garbage though.

I don’t play Hunters so I don’t know what all their tier sets look like. Most of the questing /leveling sets are pretty plain and basic just like mail. Some are hit or miss. Lately they’ve been more hit though, even for mail. Looking at some of the mail sets from DF and SL, most of them are actually not bad.
Look the MOP vendors that equip mail classes…
Isn’t that all just what was in MoP when it was current like 12 years ago? Didn’t think they actually made new stuff for this, just recolors.
They should have dropped the tmog restrictions years back.
Plate got robes, mail got robes, leather got robes. Everyone got robes and they all look like the belong to cloth!
All of it is not THAT bad. None of it is actually good.
Though found the new hunter tmog to be ok if you hid the shoulders and helmet. Shaman on the other hand was a disappointed, looked like a cata levelling set.
Meanwhile druid’s set looks like shamans.
They were all a little bulky for me. Otherwise, though, they were okay.
I had to put 3 or 4 sets together in parts to make a decent mog.
Now I don’t main anything that wears mail so maybe I’m off base but I think that perhaps they should go back to the core concept of “mail”. By that I mean there is a surprising lack of “chain mail” looking armor in the game.
With most of the mail looking closer to the other types of armor.
Granted, I don’t play as often as I used to, but the one chainmail like set I remember seeing on my hunter is the Horde version of the Darkshore warfront set. Kinda weird there’s not more.
