I’m curious to know why some people get these messages and others don’t. Maybe it’s a server thing.

There are more and more bots in the game so why not mail bots now.

That crap has been happening since vanilla.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that realizes this lol

But they’re so polite! “Sorry to bother you” “have fun!” I wish telemarketers had such manners. “Hey scum, buy our crap or we’ll call you 50 more times today.”

Wouldn’t it be gnarly if they wrote it out in haiku?

I mean I know they’re spam, but I totally get a little ping of excitement when I get mail from an unknown sender.

Can’t wait to marry my new Saudi Arabian love in the month of May.

Back in my day, we got our gold seller spam from floating orcs…and we liked (?) it!:older_man:

Seriously, though…this is the first time I’ve seen this type of mail spam, and I’ve been playing forever. Been getting messages on Mal’Ganis and Proudmoore all of a sudden, both Horde and Alliance-side.

I’m surprised they haven’t moved to Discord spam yet.

Even classic characters i hadn’t played in months had mail from these types. How are they getting the names makes you wonder.

More than likely its random, along with they can see lists of names through raider.io, warcraftlogs, and the armory itself. I imagine the bot just plugs names in mass at random and spams the messages. I’ve gotten a couple before, just deleted them and moved on, not as bad as the state of trade chat currently.

Gosh I remember those days, I was Alliance and would be sitting in Stormwind and all the sudden a bunch of gnomes would appear and start flying around to form in-game advertisements. Was hilarious.

Couldn’t imagine the amount of crying that’d happen now a days with people losing their minds.

I was kinda surprised to get one of these letters the other day after not seeing one for who knows how many years. Actually, I was probably more mildly amused to be honest. Like, how quaint, I remember those days.
