Do you think we will see Maiev Shadowsong a lot in 8.2?
I think Maiev was like the second person to have a serious encounter with the naga when they first resurfaced in the third war.
Maiev is also one of the few people around that was in the war of ancients. She expressed a hate against magic so she must have a serious grudge against queen azshara (Ofc for the, you know, burning legion stuff as well).
I really want more Maeiv in WOW and this seems like a perfect chance for Maiev to be more involved!
Considering none of the major Nelf characters are going up against Azshara and her Naga, I doubt Maiev will be there. That annoying woman got the spotlight last xpac.
Odds are we wont. It has yet to be datamined, and last we saw her she was with Tyrande fighting at Darkshore, who is already confirmed to not show up in 8.2. Not saying it isn’t possible, but I wouldn’t expect to see her.
I know she had some troubles with her voice IRL during Legion, which was why she wasn’t in Argus, they cut Her out so Her Voice Actress could heal/rest up. Dunno how much they want to stress the Actress, from what I recall Maiev’s voice style can be pretty rough to perform.
You have to remember that, on top of everything else, Maiev’s one true love sealed himself away with the Titans to be Sargeras’s jailer. Poor girl’s dealing with a broken heart, don’tcha know.
Didn’t the VA pass away or was that someone else? Swore someone did in WoW during Legion and their character hadn’t been fully finished. (Actually does sound like Maiev’s VA, because I remember thinking the person was a major lore character and how they would able to keep her going)
Shani began by saying that Tides of Vengeance gave the team its chance to “tell a little bit of Tyrande’s story” but that the focus in Nazjatar is going to shift to delve into other characters and to see more of what Sylvanas and Anduin are up to.
I think she had her moment where we told some of her story and she got her revenge for the Night Elves. I don’t think we’re exploring her story too much more in Nazjatar though.” Shani said.
Morgan picked up the conversation. “The problem is there is so much to be told. Everyone has characters they want to expand on, but we also want to introduce new ones and to find ways to weave those stories together. With Rise of Azshara, the emphasis is on Sylvanas and Azshara herself. They are the focus. There’s just so much happening.”
The two agreed that there are so many stories to tell and they want to tell those stories because players get so attached to some characters. They want to do as many of them as possible and to do them justice. Nazjatar is the venue to do just that.
It makes no sense why there are no major Night Elf figures taking on Azshara.
None!
Shandris has been ineffectual this whole expansion, simply serving as a plot device and pocket representation. “Oh, Night Elves are here, look, there’s Shandris, just… Standing… But she’s there!”
Even the dialogue and what we HAVE seen of the patch has the most captivating exchanges between Thelyssira and Azshara while Shandris is, well… She’s just there, making snide remarks at Thelyssira.
What the #*&! Blizz?! Can we like, stop stroking the Horde’s you-know-what for like, two seconds and get sound, good story to the Alliance?! I mean, this is ridiculous.
