Magnataur Allied Race Idea Official Megathread

:doughnut: :ribbon: Might As Well be Confirmed! :ribbon: :doughnut:

Greetings everyone. I can’t believe I’ve never seen this race proposed, because I know it’s on everyone’s mind for a perfect Allied Race for the Alliance, with of course the counterpart being Arcaneforged Centaur for the Horde. That’s why I’m bringing us all together to discuss these beautiful creatures.

Now, I know what you’re thinking.

  1. They’re way too big
  2. How can they mount?
  3. Can they be paladins? (obviously)
  4. How will they fit into the current storyline?

I’ll address all of those soon, it’s very easy. First off, the size thing isn’t really an issue. Just make the hitbox very small, obviously. Sure, there will be clipping, but who cares? You’re playing a giant mammoth centaur. As for mounts–easy. Duplicate the mount under all four feet, and boom. You’re able to mount with no problems. These giant mammoth-centaurs have a rich religion. See this quote:

“They do not worship the Old Gods, or any gods at all, and nobody has yet to find any writings that detail their creation, even through legends or hearsay. Magnataur never played a major role in the history of humanoid societies, but there is a potential for that to change in the coming years.

Obviously, Blizzard is planning on having them find their faith in some way or another soon. Many things have been hinting to more encounters with these creatures. See my examples:

  1. The snow in the Island Expeditions represent Northrend, and these creatures walk on the snow. That’s a hint for them showing up again.
  2. Lightforged Draeni have a paladin mount that’s an Elekk. What are those similar to? Mammoths. Hmm… seeing the connection yet?
  3. Many players still use their mammoth mounts–this indicates interest, and hints at something important.
  4. I saw a cloud shaped like a goose the other day. This means that Magnataur will be bringing in geese as a racial mount.

Now, how would they join the Alliance? Well, the answer is screamingly obvious.

“Magnataur adventurers are rare, but a few have given up their life of raiding or whaling for a more fulfilling existence. With the growing threat of the Scourge, many magnataur are forced into a new way of thinking, and the wisest among their number realize that they may not be able to stand against the undead alone. It is also possible for a magnataur to be taught the value of more peaceful forms of shamanism or other faiths…”

There’s no longer a scourge threat, but there is a void one. This means that naturally they will look to the Alliance for aid. They fit right into the aesthetic of the Alliance, because they do have four legs and thus can be thought of as ‘mutated horses’. Plus, their fur is almost a good blueish color, so they’d fit right in.

Armor would be easy to fashion for these guys. Just make it bigger and give them a pair of pants for each leg, and of course four boots. That’s really not too hard.

The lack of female models also isn’t an issue. There are females, so alls Blizzard would have to do is make females slightly smaller and give them longer fur. Really that simple.

Classes

Hunter: Duh, anyone can be a hunter.

Warrior: Same as hunter.

Druid: These creatures obviously are one with nature. Their forms would be: Mammoth tank, Giant Kobold Boomkin, Giant Horse travel (winged horse fight), and Rhino for Feral.

Paladin: These creatures are being set up for being devout. Obviously paladin would be available.

Priest: With such a rich culture, why wouldn’t they be priests?

Mage: They might not be strong magic users, but what’s stopping them anyway?

Demon Hunter: Obviously they need this class above all. It makes the most sense, and I don’t even need to explain why. Anyone can think of the reasoning in an instant.

So, what do you think? These guys honestly might as well be confirmed already.

Oh, by the way, April Fools.

If word spread, Magnataur should still be recentful of Garrosh so that’s yet another motive to join the Alliance.

It may not be the race we want, but it’s the race we deserve.

The funnier thing is one of the Warcraft RPG supplements had Magnataur as a playable race. Which I still find hilarious

NO. I don’t want those damn sexy magnataurs anywhere in the game! It’s bad enough I have to see them every time I go to northrend, I don’t want to have to stare at those well toned calves every damn raid night!

No, it’s a butterfly! The feet/tail are the lower wings and the neck is the antennae!
