Magic Color Customization

Blizzard would it be possible to allow for Mages to have color customization for their magic spells? Meaning instead of just having Flame being Red/Yellow, Frost being White/Blue and Arcane being Purple/Blue…it would be a nice change of pace if we could have a number of different colors to change what a spell would look like when its cast! I, for one, would love to see my Arcane Missiles have a blood red color!

All magic should be the color octarine anyway.

Break lore even further? No thanks.
Fire and Frost are properly colored, not even a question here.
Arcane energy has been shown to be purple/blue many, many times: the blue dragonflight, the focusing iris, the mana bomb, Netherstorm… There’s a reason for it to have those colors, Arcane goes against Nature and those are colorations that aren’t commonly found naturally.

I’ve been requesting class accessory slot implemented to transmogrification or becoming a system of it own.

Such as specific artifacts which alters a spellcaster’s spell effect, one handed weapons and or bow that can sheath on a Rogue’s back, as well as quivers for Hunters.

I like this! If there is anything that a gamer likes…it’s options! I want it available to me…and if I don’t like it, I don’t have to use it! But if it’s not available…then I don’t have the option to like it or not.

The counter would be that nobody would know what you’re doing in PvP.

Which is easy to fix incidentally by having the default spell skins be on for competitive PvP for opposing players.

Easy enough.

Technically any Mage with enough skill in the canon spell school of Illusion could get fancy with their spells and make them all sorts of odd colours.

But that would be a lot of work for nothing, and would be restricted to only Mages, even though all the other spellcasters technically use the same spell schools, just with different magical variants.

I read Tides of War, Jaina is a more interesting character than it seems. The book also delves a little into the rules of arcane magic since Kalecgos is an important character too.

I would hope that I am good at magic after several hundreds years of life in Silvermoon!

what if you cast illusory magic over your regular magic at the same time so it looks like a different colour

I don’t think that’s possible, Warlocks and Shadow Priests would get away with all kinds of shenanigans if it was.

what if some sort of scribing profession could write powerful glyphs onto magical vellums that people use to change the colour or visual element of their spellcasting abilities

Maybe that could be a trade skill…probably in Inscription or Enchantment? Something temporary or semi-permanent?

There’s magic that can hide traces of magic after it’s been used. But I don’t know about any case of magic manifestation being concealed while it’s being cast.

Shenanigans are great!

my horse is a different horse because of a glyph

Heh…we were writing this at the same time…I just said something similar.

The magic has already been cast. The hands of the scribe glowed while creating the glyph.
