Mages suck

I mean, it’s my fault, I know blizz don’t give a damn. I used my expansion’s boost to lvl up a mage, and i totally regret it. People don’t want me on rbgs , which are what i play the game for, so it sucks. My damage just can’t even that of a lock. Who the hell wants mana cakes nowadays, anyway? and my buffs are totally lame.
This is crap.

Sounds like a you problem

Sadly, that’s true. Mages aren’t a meta class, and if you are going to be pugging rated BGs, you aren’t going to get invited. Try to join a community and get games that way. Being a mage isn’t super fun if you want to play rated BGs. However, on the bright side, you can play fire in arena with a rogue and be OP.

As a healer, I’m delighted for the gift of mana cakes and mages in general harassing would be assailants

As a warrior, your mana cakes make me throw up. They’re so disgusting. I only eat one thing, and that is feast of gluttonous hedonism.

Frost is insane rn. Affliction and MM are just god tier so they get the spots.

It’s a community problem. Everyone just takes the FotM classes.

Deeper down, it’s a Blizzard problem.

Right? I’m having an absolute blast on my frost mage right now. I may die in a stun but my god am I dishing out loads of damage. Apart from that, the utility and support i’m able to bring to a group is nuts. I threw up an Icewall in WG last week when demos were trying to enter the courtyard, NO ONE THOUGHT TO ATTACK THE ICEWALL. They just sat there shooting over it. It blew my mind.

My confusion is that you appear to be a nelf, but your story of impenetrable ice walls speaks volumes of ancient alliance tactics. Are you certain you weren’t waving the red flag for that battle?

Edit: for clarification, the inability to overcome said wall

Considering that Hunters and Warriors and Locks are super beefy, it leaves you wondering why Mages are left behind.

If the 5 or so frost mages I saw last night on both my team and the enemy team while I was doing yolo rbgs on my rsham are anything to go by then it’s because the frost mages burn both charges of shimmer and soulshape in as far as they possibly can get, hit a frost nova, cast deathborne, start casting frostbolt, get interrupted and die instantly because they used all their mobility to get way ahead of their team and then proceed to complain about lack of team presence.

Guilty, my Mage is a goblin.

Worst class in the entire game right now. And it’s not even close. I wouldn’t bother trying to learn it. You’ll be as good in 5 months as you would be 1-hour after playing a marksmanship hunter.

You’re not mobile (blink often mysteriously fails and leads you to a quicker death), your damage is negligible, you don’t have control, and you can’t really cast anything against decent people.

Shimmer is not worth picking up, as you need the blink to break stuns; otherwise, you’ll die instantly. But, as a frost mage, you have an ice wall that causes FPS drops when it breaks.

The only people who will tell you that mages are any good don’t play a mage. lol

It’s terrible in PvE, and it’s bad in PvP. I’d argue the game isn’t even worth playing for mages right now unless madness is what you’re looking for.

Mage still can be one of the hardiest base defenders, maybe even they best if you gear and talent for it, but I rank mages about the bottom among RDPS for team fights.

There’s those situations where a frost mage can totally do massive damage, but it involves a lot more free casting than you should be getting away with, especially during those 3 min cooldowns

change mage invis to work like hunter camo.

It may have fallen off the meta in PvP, but last I checked some mage specs were still top 10 in DPS for PvE content.

Nah, takes more than an hour to get craven.
