Wow lol. This take is so bad.
I do get sad when I don’t get free stuff from mages but I don’t blame losing a BG on it. Get some back up water…

They should have had their own food/water.
And healers shouldn’t heal, you should bring your own health potions. Makes so much sense.
Honestly, when I’m on my DPS toons, and I get a heal in a BG, I consider it to be a bonus
I don’t expect engineers to drop a repair bot because I know how to repair in town, just like how healers should go to an inn and get food/water not rely on a mage.
Youre complaining because you’re too lazy to bring water and then complain because there was a mage who could have given you water. There was no assurance of the mage being there but its their fault you lost? no this post absolutely have no value whatsoever.
I lol’d at this one.
Classes have the expectation in all group content have the expectation that they will use their buffs/utility. Imagine if shamans didn’t drop wf totems, healers didn’t want to heal, or pallys decided they don’t want to buff others.
“Yes it’s such laziness you forgot to bring health pots, and you were complaining there was a priest they that could of healed you (but chose not to)”
That’s how dumb what you just said was.
Mages have the expectation to drop a table in a group, sorry. It’s a social MMO, nobody is truly self sufficient and needs nothing from nobody, and it’s silly to think that way.

People who don’t have their own water and food in any group are lazy and unprepared… what if there was no mage in your BG, is it suddenly the mage in the last BG’s fault you lost cause they didn’t drop a table then? The ONLY thing a class should be expected to do for their group are buffs and to preform their roles in the group, food and water are a luxury, something EVERY class can bring EQUALLY well to a group.
Do you expect every warlock to drop cookies in BGs, what if they’re out of shards? Should hunters buy stacks of arrows to give out? Why should a mage spend money so you don’t have to? Why any mana user would go anywhere without 5 stacks of water is beyond me. Take responsibility for your own mistakes and don’t blame others.
On that note, I do drop tables in BGs, but if you NEEDED one that’s on you and only you for being lazy, forgetful, or cheap. If it’s dropped, cool, pick up some free water/food, but it’s not a mage’s job to make sure you have consumables. The mage table is a luxury, not a need.
And your argument that you shouldn’t need to heal as a healer is not even remotely the same, that is literally your role if that’s what you’re specced as. If you don’t come prepared that’s on you.
What if the mage ran out of Arcane Powder, are they still a jerk? Not okay for them to not bring a consumable but okay for you?
Do your heals cost 2 reagents?
I’m not saying the reagents are costly, but you do have to stack the damn things in your bags. If a mage plans to run bgs all day, that’s easily 5 bag slots eaten up, also accounting for buffing groups.
Since players can grab 80 conjured breads at a time, most players get enough mage food for a few hours of BGs from just one table. It doesn’t make sense to just automatically drop a table if nobody needs it.
Be prepared. Take responsibility.

If a mage decided not to place a table down but wanted to trade food/water to people individually, it would be the same result.

It’s so exceptional and entitled that people expect mages to use their utility spells to provide buffs/water for party members. My expectations were simply astronomical… (sarcasm of course)

Did you ask the mage for food/water? Or just expect them to start making it and open trade with everyone whether they needed it or not?
Did you ask the mage for food/water?
Yes. /10chars
Well, that is pretty crappy.
But obviously you can’t assume that there will always be a mage in your bgs. Mana water is plentifully available in the game, either from mob drops or a vendor.
missed the point entirely. You are blaming them for the loss. Were you going to lose if they didnt queue? was it still their fault? Absolutely absurd argument which is why your post has no value. Everything else you say is irrelevant when that sole point is why this post is garbage.
Mages are required to provide food? Interesting… I will need to remember that one for next time. As Arms we are only required to bring our guns and /flex.
LOL are you really gonna complain about reagent costs as a mage? The class that literally prints gold?
It costs less for a mage to drop a table and provide for the entire raid than it does for a single person to buy a stack of food or water. Nice try though.
This topic is the perfect bait for bad faith contrarians.
Every class has a role to play. Providing food and water is one of the roles of a mage. A mage refusing to drop a table in group content is like a tank refusing to taunt, healer refusing to heal, or DPS refusing to interrupt or CC.
